On Good Morning America, Pixar debuted the trailer for a forthcoming origin story for everyone's favorite cartoon character from the Toy Story franchise, "Buzz Lightyear". The animated, family-friendly, sci-fi film, is fittingly titled and Captain America a.k.a. Chris Evans will provide the animated character's voice.

However, "Light year" does not follow Tim Allen's popular character's toy-sized space travels; instead, it introduces the "real-life" human astronaut whose adventures inspired the "Toy Story" toy line. The spectator may see Light year, suit up for what appears to be a perilous and daring space expedition in the teaser.

Buzz Light year, boards a space shuttle, which is being closely monitored by a ground control staff as it blasts off into space. As Light year explores other planets, learns about space travel from an instructive robot, and finally gazes up at his iconic green-white-space suit in the trailer's concluding seconds, David Bowie's tune from "Starman" plays in the backdrop.

Tim Allen played Buzz Light year in four "Toy Story" films from 1995 until 2019, but now Chris Evans, best known for his role as Captain America, will take over as Buzz Light year's voice. "I didn't know what that meant, as Tim Allen is Buzz Light year, and no one could ever touch his performance," he remarked in a press release when the news was first disclosed in December 2020. He lastly added, "I needed to discover what made this character unique and why this story was important to share."

Chris Evans later took to his social media, stating that he is grateful for the opportunity to voice the iconic character. "Animated movies were a big part of my youth," he added. "They were a haven for me. My adventures. My dreams. They were my introduction to the wonders of storytelling and performance. Thank you doesn't begin to express my gratitude to Pixar and Angus MacLane for #Lightyear”.

Many people have wondered why Tim Allen was replaced as Buzz Light year, and it has been suggested that it was because of Tim Allen's political leanings. Allen has been outspoken about his conservative beliefs, and he recently drew criticism for saying on the podcast "WTF with Marc Maron" that he liked it when former President Donald Trump "pissed people off." Politically, I'm somewhat of an anarchist," he stated in an interview with the EW in 2018. He went on to explain that he supports any political party that spends money more wisely, describing himself as "fiscally conservative."

Chris Evans, on the other hand, is known for his liberal beliefs, having publicly chastised Trump and other Republicans on Twitter.

The audience had varied feelings about the trailer, with one commenting, "Buzz Light year movie. Tim Allen did not provide the voice for this character! On Twitter, someone said, "I might have to pass on principle."Meanwhile, someone else was perplexed by the reactions to Tim Allen's absence from the Light year film. "At this point, I'm not sure why there's so much confusion." It has been explained numerous times. The toy on which Chris Evans' Buzz is based is Tim Allen's Buzz. "We're learning about the tale behind the toy's creation".  He explained, "We just met the toy initially."

"I'm relieved Tim Allen isn't doing Buzz Light year's voice. His political convictions will have a terrible impact on youngsters who see the movie, and he sounds like he's 90 years old. Chris Evans is the ideal choice", one user commented.

"Light year," which was first unveiled over a year ago at Disney's 2020 Investor Day, will hit theaters on June 17, 2022. It will be released just a few months after Pixar's next film, "Turning Red," which will be released on March 11, 2022.

The spy thriller "The Gray Man," which reunites him with "Avengers" filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo, and Adam McKay's "Don't Look Up," which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence later this year, are also on his future schedule.
