Prince Harry talks about the stress Meghan Markle was put through.

The second volume of Harry and Meghan dropped on Netflix on Thursday, and it goes ahead and features the next three episodes of the lives of the royal couple, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and their decision to step down as senior members of the royal family. Volume II of the document series also gives the audience a little insight into Meghan Markle’s legal battle with Associated Newspapers and the Mail on Sunday.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle talk in the episode about how the Duchess miscarried a baby in 2020 when the royal couple was moving into their home in Montecito, California. She was also in a legal battle with Associated Newspaper and the Mail on Sunday during the same time, and she recalls that she was pregnant and that she was not able to sleep because of the stress that the legal battle with the publications brought on for her.

Meghan Markle’s friend and former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer said that Meghan Markle had told her that she was in pain, adding that she was holding Archie and just fell to the ground. Meghan adds that she miscarried her baby the first morning the royal couple awoke in their new home.

In a separate interview, Prince Harry said that according to him, the reason why Meghan miscarried their child was because of the lawsuit and what the tabloids did to her, and added that he watched the whole thing. He clarified that now they know that the miscarriage was created and caused by that. They don't, but they noted that bearing in mind the stress that caused, the lack of sleep, the timing of the pregnancy, and how many weeks she was in, he can say from what he saw that the miscarriage was created by what the lawsuit and the tabloids were trying to do to her. Prince added that he thought that she was brave, but that doesn't surprise him because she is courageous.

Following her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018, Meghan Markle wrote a personal letter to her estranged father, Thomas Markle, which was printed in the Mail on Sunday and MailOnline without their knowledge or permission. Duchess’ legal team won both the initial case against the Mail on Sunday and the newspaper’s appeal, and the newspaper was ordered to print an apology on the front page. Meghan mentioned that initially she thought that the public would not believe the stories that were fabricated and published about her, but she soon realized that they do when a woman spoke to her in Liverpool, telling her what she was doing to her father was not right. Meghan said that her entire center was rocked to its core after realizing that people believe what they were reading.

The Duchess of Sussex noted that she has received a massive amount of hate and death threats online, which has made her anxious and worried, as she would stay awake all night thinking about the safety of her family. She mentioned that the fear she felt because of the way people bashed her online and sent her and her kids death threats make these things real and not just a mere tabloid story. The couple welcomed their second child in June 2021, Lilibet, and stated that there was something that felt so complete once they welcomed their daughter.

Prince Harry says that where he sees a lot of Meghan Markle in their son Archie, he also sees a lot of his mother, the late Princess Diana, in their daughter Lilibet. Adding that she is very Spencer-like, with the same blue eyes and sort of golden and reddish hair. During the episode, Meghan Markle also recalls the public's reaction to their Oprah Winfrey interview and said that she thought that her being very open about the depression that she went through and just how extreme that became for her would be the biggest takeaway. But she added that she was amazed that the audience did not see what she had expected as the entire conversation surrounded race.

The Duchess also revealed that after the interview, Beyonce reached out to her and sent her a text that said that she was just checking in and wanted her to feel safe and protected adding that she admires and respects her bravery and vulnerability and thinks that she was selected to break generational curses that need to be healed. Prince Harry says that it's well said.
