Prince Harry’s memoir "Spare" is making headlines.

Ahead of its release, Prince Harry’s memoir "Spare" is making some headlines as extracts from the book have been made public. Ghostwriter J. R. Moehringer has penned the book.

After the tragic death of their mother, Princess Diana, Prince Harry, and his brother Prince William urged King Charles not to marry Camilla Parker Bowles in the early chapters of the memoir. Camilla Parker Bowles was the mistress with whom King Charles and then Prince Charles cheated on Princess Diana for years. He added that their father was going ahead with the marriage, so they wished him well and mentioned there were no hard feelings.

Prince Harry also mentioned in his memoir that they soon were able to recognize that their father was finally going to be with the woman he loved, the woman he’d always loved, which made them think that fate might have intended that for him in the first place. Duke continued that whatever bitterness and sorrow they felt after they had to close another loop of their mother’s story, they understood that it was beside the point.

The Duke also penned down his initial thoughts about Camilla Parker Bowles, wondering if she would be cruel to him or if she would be like all the evil stepmothers in the stories he had heard. He added that Prince William had been suspicious of the other woman (Camilla Parker Bowles) for a long time, which confused and tormented him, but when they were confirmed, William felt agonizing remorse for not having done or said anything before.

One of the most shocking extracts included in "Spare" is when Prince Harry writes about how, after he was born, Prince Charles told his mother, the late Princess Diana, that she had given him an heir and a "spare," and that is where his work was done. He also described that after the passing of Princess DianaCharles did not hug him, trying to explain he was not capable of expressing emotional responses under normal conditions, therefore how could he be anticipated to do so in this situation? However, Prince wrote that Charles' palms did fall on his kneecaps, and he convinced him that all would be fine, and Harry stated that it had been a lot for him.

He also went ahead to note how, at the time, Camilla Parker Bowles, now Queen Consort, turned his bedroom at Clarence House in London into her personal dressing room as soon as he moved out. Prince Harry wrote that he tried not to care about something like a bedroom being turned into a dressing room, but the first time he saw it, he did. The Duke also went on to describe a conversation he had with his father in the early 2010s, where King Charles lamented that Harry had not gotten mental health help. He writes that he spoke to his father about what he had been dealing with, which was described as panic and anxiety attacks, to which Charles just lowered his head and said to Prince that maybe it was his fault as he should have gotten him the help he needed years ago, but the son reminded his father that it was not his fault but he did appreciate the apology.

Prince Harry’s mental health spiral began in 2013 when he returned home from Afghanistan and realized how much his mother’s passing had affected him. He continued that King Charles had shown him a very kind gesture on his part by sending him to a doctor, but it was not much of a help for him because the doctor wanted to prescribe his pills and he did not want to take pills.

Harry said that his symptoms were described as interchanging durations of extremely severe lack of energy and frightening severe anxiety. He claimed in his memoir that his formal life consists mainly of being out in public, participating in debates and debates, and giving an interview and that he soon found himself unable to perform these basic functions. He went on to say that he would begin panting moments before any public appearance, and after noticing this, he self-diagnosed himself but later realized he was experiencing pain from post-traumatic syndrome.

Prince Harry said that it never occurred to him that he could also be suffering from PTSD. Aside from all of his work with injured soldiers and all of his efforts to help them, he never realized that he was an injured soldier himself and that his war had not started in Afghanistan. It started in August 1997.

Former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown, on the other hand, stated that while Prince William has grown accustomed to Camilla Parker Bowles in terms of what she means to his father, Prince Harry has never completely accepted her and is not accepting of the fact that she will be a queen, adding that he has never made his peace with it and probably never will.

"Spare" will be available in bookstores in the US on January 10.
