Jen Shah’s husband pleads for leniency in fraud sentencing.

Sharrieff Shah Sr., Jen Shah's husband, has pleaded with the judge to be lenient in his wife's fraud sentencing, which is set to be announced on January 6th, and Jen Shah faces up to 14 years in prison.

Sharrieff Shah Sr. told the judge in a letter obtained by Page Six that his wife, Jen Shah, has never been taken into custody for any crime and that her current constitutional situation is the outcome of a series of events that came together and at various points and ended up causing her to get out of hand.

In the letter, Sharrieff Shah Sr. mentions Jen Shah's sincere remorse for her deeds, bringing up that their tumultuous relationship could have led her to consider making some dismally poor business choices and making connections with horrible people. He went on to blame himself, asserting in the letter that because he had been unavailable from her life due to his constant travel and remaining away from home because of work, he could not see how poorly Jen was struggling back home.

He went on to say that when he reminisces on the circumstance, he recalls her spending more time alone in their bedroom, where she'd quite often fall asleep while having to wait for him to return home. Sharrieff Shah Sr. admitted that Jen Shah told repeatedly him she felt alone and that she'd lost her father, grandmother, and grandfather all at the same time she was supposedly running a $5 million telemarketing scheme.

In his letter, the former lawyer stated that Jen Shah had already taken an important step toward rectifying the situation by agreeing to plead guilty to her conspiracy to commit wire fraud in July and going to hold herself responsible. Sharrieff Shah Sr. request .'s for a lessening in her sentence comes just one week after Jen Shah's request to the judge for a lowering in her sentence to three years behind bars.

Jen Shah's attorney, Priya Chaudhry, stated in the submission request that they think such a sentence is equitable and reasonable because it ends up taking Jen Shah's background and character traits, the facts and circumstances of the offense committed, and fulfills the requirement that a court imposes a sentence that is not more than necessary to meet the objectives of punitive action. The attorney also stated that the trial has already prompted the reality TV star, as well as her spouse and children, a great deal of dread, great pity, and humiliation. Priya went on to say that the reality TV star comprehends the psychological and emotional toll that her sons have already been forced to bear. These are the wrongs she plans to make amends for the rest of her life.

Jen Shah's legal team argued that she must serve the lesser punishment because she had no immediate interaction with the alleged perpetrators and her "background and character traits" are consistent with a reduced sentence. In addition, the Bravolebrity provided a declaration in which she accepted ultimate responsibility for the poor business decisions" she made. She has also decided to submit a three-page statement in which she explains how her observation of losing family members in addition to being a part of the reality show's cast, provided her with an opportunity to escape her previous business enterprises.

Jen Shah wrote that her poor judgment and bad business relationships caused defenseless people to lose finances and be unfairly targeted by investing in badly constructed businesses or goods that she impacted or governed, and she expressed sincere disappointment and stated that she would work for the rest of her life to make it right. In federal court in Manhattan, the reality star pleaded guilty to one charge of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telesales. The second charge of conspiracy to commit financial fraud was dismissed.

In addition to her prison time, Jen Shah was ordered to pay restitution of up to $9.5 million. This arrives after it was revealed that she would not be appearing in the upcoming season of Bravo's 'The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.'
