His speech repeatedly featured his love for his two kids, Otis, his seven-year-old son, and Daisy, a four-year-old daughter he shares with his now ex Olivia Wilde. He also gave a loving shout-out to his other loved family members and appreciated them during the acceptance speech.

The overwhelmed actor started with, "Thank you very much. So yeah, a heck of a year." He then proceeded to tell about the show and appreciate his family members, teachers, and teammates, saying, "I would say that this show is about family. This show is about mentors and teachers. This show is about teammates. And I wouldn't be here without those three things in my life."

Building on the appreciation, he continued, "I want to thank my folks, Dan and Kathy. My sisters Chris and Lizzie. My sister that has been chosen outside of biology, Rachel. I want to thank my children, Otis and Daisy."

Besides thanking his family, he also showed appreciation for his mentor Lome Michaels, Saturday Night Live. "I want to thank folks at SNL. Lome, who went to go take a dump now, perfect. He's going to get home - he's going to watch. He loves watching the Emmys at home. It is fine. It's fine. Which home is the big question," he joked.

He also thanked his crewmates, the show creators, and writers, "And I want to thank my teammates that help make this show. I want to thank our incredible writing staff. I want to thank our incredible directors. I want to thank my incredible cast."

He said that it's the show's people that helped him reach the heights by reflecting, "I am only as good as you guys make me look. And so really it means the world to me to be up here and just be a mirror of what you give to me — and we reflect back and forth on each other, so thank you so much."

Jason looked dapper at the event, wearing a tailored Tom Ford suit in fun blue velvet. The look was made complete with a black tie and Jason's ever-persistent amusing smile.

Jason is a co-writer of the show alongside Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, and Bill Lawrence. The show had secured four other nominations for the Sunday Emmys. Apart from Emmys, Jason also is the winner of a Golden Globe award for the title Best Actor in a Television series.
