Olivia Wilde is a devoted mother.

In addition to preparing for her new film, "Don't Worry, Darling," actress-director Olivia Wilde is engaged in a custody dispute with her ex-fiance, Jason Sudeikis, over their children, Otis and Daisy. Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis have been embroiled in a legal battle about where they will parent their children, between London, Los Angeles, and New York City.

According to a source close to the actress, there is very little communication between the ex-couple and what little there is, they exclusively discuss the kids and their schedule on social media or through assistants. The former partners are currently primarily concerned with maintaining their children as a priority and doing what is best for them.

According to the insider, Olivia Wilde is committed to ensuring that her children, Otis and Daisy, have the best possible relationship with their father. She has never attempted to obstruct their relationship and has actively promoted it. Olivia Wilde is optimistic that they can establish a routine and procedure to make their relationship simple and easy.

After dating for ten years, Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis decided to call it quits in November 2020. Earlier this month, Olivia Wilde, was served custody papers by the Ted Lasso actor while she was on stage at CinemaCon in April in the middle of her presentation showcasing to an audience of 4,100 business professionals when someone uncomfortably handed her a manila envelope with the words "Personal and Confidential" written on it. She claimed in court documents that Jason Sudeikis chose to serve them to her aggressively when he could have done so discreetly.

Jason Sudeikis' custody petition has been legally challenged by Olivia Wilde, who also characterized his violent serving methods and stated that they were meant to intimidate her and catch her off guard. She went on to say that it is utterly against their children's best interests for Jason Sudeikis to disgrace her professionally and make their dispute public in this way. A source said that Olivia Wilde has only chosen this way for custody after she was served with custody papers, it was clear that the former couple might not be able to work things out.

According to court documents, Olivia Wilde claimed that Jason Sudeikis was scheduled to film the last season of "Ted Lasso" in London, so the couple agreed to send their kids to school in Los Angeles for the next year. But recently, the actress alleged, Jason decided to move to New York for the duration of his unpaid leave of absence, and he wanted the kids to join him. Jason filed these documents after she refused because the kids haven't resided in New York for a while.

In a declaration to the court, Jason Sudeikis shot back, claiming that their Brooklyn house has always been the family's primary residence and that Olivia Wilde was deceiving him by stating their children lived in Los Angeles. In the application, Jason Sudeikis stated that for better or worse, he is a New Yorker, and added that it was best for their children to grow up in Brooklyn. Olivia said that the children have spent most of the last four years in LA or London and mentioned that they have even attended schools in the two locations.

Jason Sudeikis defended himself by writing in his petition that he did not want Olivia Wilde to receive custody papers at her current partner's house, preferring instead to serve her at the airport or in a hotel instead. After all, their children could be there, and he didn't want to serve her the papers in front of the other parents at the kids' school.

Jason went on to say that he knows Olivia Wilde's talk was a significant occasion for her, both personally and professionally, and he apologized for sabotaging her special moment. He does, however, understand that the process server had only been doing her job, and he is sorry that it happened while she was on stage.

A representative of the actor said at the time that Jason Sudeikis was not aware of the time or the place where Olivia Wilde would be served with the custody papers, as it would have been purely up to the process serving firm involved and the actor would never have condoned Olivia Wilde being served in such an inappropriate manner. The representative added that Jason is apologetic about the situation since he is aware of how important the presentation was.

Documents from the courtroom obtained by PEOPLE on August 10 show that a judge granted Olivia Wilde's request to have a custody petition submitted by Jason Sudeikis in October 2021 dismissed. The matter will therefore continue to be heard in California. According to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail, the Ted Lasso actor reportedly expressed his desire for the couple to raise their children in New York City, where the family formerly resided and where Otis and Daisy were both born.

In a Zoom hearing on August 10 with Jason Sudeikis, their attorneys, and judges in both New York where Jason lives, and Los Angeles where Olivia lives, the judges agreed that New York was not the kids' home, tossing out Jason's initial case for custody in New York, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. The custody dispute will now be heard in L.A. County, according to the publication.

Currently, Harry Styles, who also appears in her film, is dating Olivia Wilde.
