Jake Gyllenhaal has finally addresses the rumors about him and Taylor Swift’s ‘All Too Well’.

In a recent cover story for Esquire, actor Jake Gyllenhaal has finally addressed the highly anticipated question of the year, which is related to Taylor Swift’s 'All Too Well' song largely about him. Jake was asked if he has listened to the album that Taylor Swift re-released with a 10-minute version of ‘All Too Well’ song, to which Jake replied, “NO”. 'All Too Well', especially the Taylor's Version is one of the most loved songs of the singer.

The 'Nightcrawler', actor was asked about the attention (more like being a punching bag online) the song garnered him post the release of the video, to which Jake said, “It has nothing to do with me. It’s about her relationship with her fans. It is her expression. Artists tap into personal experiences for inspiration, and I don’t begrudge anyone that.” Although Taylor Swift never really commented personally on the song being about the actor but her loyal fans just knew and they did not only went ahead and commented on the actor's social media but his sister Maggie Gyllenhaal and his godmother Jamie Lee Curtis' too which is too much to be honest.

Jake shared that people just assumed that it has been hard on me since the song came out but it has not been hard on him since her album came out and clarified his act about turning off his Instagram comments by stating, “At some point, I think it’s important when supporters get unruly that we feel a responsibility to have them be civil and not allow for cyberbullying in one’s name. That begs for a deeper philosophical question. Not about any individual, per se, but a conversation that allows us to examine how we can—or should, even—take responsibility for what we put into the world, our contributions into the world. How do we provoke a conversation? We see that in politics. There’s anger and divisiveness, and it’s literally life-threatening in the extreme.”

Jake Gyllenhaal suggested that he is not stating that his life is under threat or any sort of danger but, “My question is: Is this our future? Is anger and divisiveness our future? Or can we be empowered and empower others while simultaneously putting empathy and civility into the dominant conversation? That’s the discussion we should be having.”

Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift started dating in October 2010 after they attended Saturday Night Live to support a friend and host Emma Stone and their relationship lasted just for three months. It was reported by a source at that time, "Jake just told her it wasn't working out. Taylor is really upset and hurt. She feels really burned by him." Taylor Swift dropped an entire album in 2012 titled, ‘Red’ which according to reports and her fans included the songs about her romance with Jake Gyllenhaal and the hurt that their split caused her. When Taylor Swift re-recorded her album and dropped the video for ‘All Too Well’ 10 minute Taylor’s version with Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien, the audience was quick to point out that the actors’ appearance and ages line up with how Jake and Taylor were during their relationship.

Jake spoke about his relationship with his girlfriend Jeanne Cadieu and said, “My life is wonderful. I have a relationship with girlfriend Jeanne Cadieu that is truly wonderful, and I have a family I love so much. And this whole period of time has made me realize that.” He added, “In a lot of ways, we’re family. I’m in a relationship that is full of love and support. I feel so at ease.” Jake shared that the couple stayed that his godmother Jamie Lee Curtis’ Los Angeles guesthouse during the first few months of the pandemic along with explaining how they celebrated Hanukkah with his mom Naomi Foner, sister Maggie Gyllenhaal, brother-in-law Peter Sarsgaard and nieces Ramona and Gloria, and how they watched cuts of Maggie's directorial debut 'The Lost Daughter' and gave their input. Jake said, "It's my family, my friends, and the people I love who take priority and not, I hate to say it, the career. And maybe that's me saying they didn't always."

The actor also shared that he thinks about his mother and father and quoted, “As you get older, you get to a place where you see yourself as you saw your parents when you were a child. And that’s a really beautiful perspective. I’ve been on this earth with my parents for forty-one years, and it’s a really deep, really complex relationship.” During the interview, Jake Gyllenhaal mentioned that over the years, he and his sister have grown closer and more like friends for which both of them are very grateful.
