Kate Moss gets candid about her involvement in the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard defamation trial.

Actress and model Kate Moss, who appeared virtually on the stand to testify for Johnny Depp during his six-week-long defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard at the Fairfax County Court, Virginia, is now detailing her involvement. The model is known to be very discrete about her interviews and keeping her personal life to herself so when she appeared on the stand, it did shook the audience. Kate Moss and Johnny Depp dated from 1994 to 1998.

During an appearance as a guest on BBC radio interview ‘Desert Island Discs’, Kate Moss was asked about her motivation to take the stand in the highly publicized defamation battle between ex-Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard to which she said that she believes in the truth and she believes in fairness and justice.

Kate Moss further replied that she knows the truth about Johnny and he never kicked her down the stairs and she just had to say that truth. Kate Moss was brought in as a witness after Amber Heard, while being on the stand, mentioned that she swung at Johnny Depp to defend her sister, Whitney Henriquez after she instantly remembered Kate Moss and the staircase incident.

Kate Moss, on her appearance as a witness, detailed in front of the court that Johnny Depp never kicked her, pushed her, or threw her down the stairs, but, while they were out on a vacation and it was raining heavily, she slipped because of the water and tripped down the stairs and hurt her back after which she screamed in pain. The model continued that Johnny Depp came running back and picked her up took her to the bedroom and got her medical help as soon as possible.

After Kate Moss’ testimony, Camille Vasquez asked Amber Heard if she did not expect Kate Moss to appear in court and testify, to which Amber Heard said that it’s incorrect because she knows how many people would come out of the woodwork to be in support of Johnny Depp and added that it is clear from this courtroom how many people will do that. (The majority of the people in the courtroom were supporters of Johnny Depp.)

Amber Heard continued that everybody who was around in the ’90s had heard the rumors that Johnny Depp kicked Kate Moss down the stairs and added that she had heard it from multiple people, and of course, it was the same thing that appeared in front of her eyes when Johnny Depp not only took a swing at her but her sister too. The actress continued that she did not expect Kate Moss to show up or not expect her to show up because it did not matter as it did not change what she believed at the time, as she had thought that her ex-husband would kill her sister by pushing her down the stairs.

Kate Moss continued to support Johnny Depp as she was also spotted attending his concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London, where the musician-actor had performed with his friend and musical collaborator, guitarist Jeff Beck. Kate Moss during the interview with BBC Radio she also spoke about why she spoke in favor of John Galliano who was found guilty of making racist and antisemitic comments in a Paris court in 2011. Kate said that she knows that John Galliano is not a bad person,  he had an alcohol problem and people turn. She added that people aren’t themselves when they drink, and they say things that they would never say if they were sober.

The jury of Fairfax County Court unanimously reached a verdict that Amber Heard had defamed Johnny Depp when she published the op-ed in which she described herself as a survivor of domestic abuse and violence. The jury found that Johnny Depp defamed the actress on one point, where his lawyer Adam Waldman made a few remarks about Amber Heard and she was awarded with $2 million, and Johnny Depp was awarded with $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages, which were ultimately reduced to $350,000.

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp had filed an appeal against the verdicts. Amber Heard’s legal team believes that the court and the jury made some errors in the verdict and later Johnny Depp also filed seeking to overturn the $2 million verdict in favor of Amber Heard’s countersuit.
