Katie Maloney moves out of her house she shared with ex-husband Tom Schwartz.
Vanderpump Rules star Katie Maloney, who announced her split from Tom Schwartz a few months ago, has finally moved out of the former couple’s Valley Village neighborhood house and is ready for the next chapter of her life. Back in March after announcing the split, during an episode of Katie Maloney's podcast, You're Gonna Love Me, the reality TV star shared that she and her ex were still living together in their house after deciding to end their relationship. She explained that they are just trying to navigate the steps together and really work on becoming friends.
Katie Maloney took to her social media to share a picture of herself in the former couple’s Los Angeles home’s empty bedroom and wrote in the caption that she hates goodbyes and this one hurts a lot. She continued that the emotions she feels right now are so hard to pin down and added that closing this chapter of her life feels like she is attending her funeral, but she is very much alive.
The reality TV star also thanked the house, which is situated in the Valley Village neighborhood, for the memories she created with her ex-Tom Schwartz over the past three years and wrote Thank you for being the coziest and brightest home for the memories, for being her sanctuary, for letting her dress up like a hallmark movie set at Christmas and for being theirs. Katie Maloney added that she is going to miss coming home.
Katie Maloney shared on Sunday that she was moving out of her house in the next two days and is currently living amongst a sea of boxes. Tom Schwartz also shared a couple of pictures from the movie as he posted pictures of the boxes from the couple’s bedroom and some of their dogs, Butter, and Gordo, whom he described as "children of divorce."
Katie Maloney spoke to Lindsey Metselaar’s We Met at Acme podcast in April and opened up about her split after 12 years of togetherness. She said that she was expressing her feelings when she felt that her needs were not getting met and she was being hurt by some of the behavior and stated that maybe Tom Schwartz did not understand her or resonated or agreed with her. Katie later mentioned that she finally caught up with some courage and came out and confronted the situation by telling Tom that she was not happy.
Katie Maloney said during the interview that Tom Schwartz did nothing when she told him and said that maybe he thought that she was going to get over it or something like that, and then a few weeks later she told him that she wanted a divorce. The reality star said that she thought that they would make it work but she was struggling with issues in their relationship and was putting all of her focus and energy into her marriage, which eventually took a toll on her mental health and she had to take a step back and think.
Katie said that separating from Tom was hard but was the best option and best decision she had taken for herself and both of them. She said that they had grown apart and changed and she realized that maybe the marriage was not a healthy thing for them and that at times she felt like she was dying inside, losing sleep and constantly worrying about the marriage before she filed for the divorce.
In May, Katie Maloney talked about her decision to end her marriage after 12 years on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast and said that the minute she made that choice, the thing she was scared of the most became like a gift. She continued that it became an opportunity for her and she was no longer scared of it but clarified that it did not mean that she was not sad or heartbroken about the decision to split up, because she was.
Katie continued that she was gutted, but she thought that just leaning in and trusting your gut and listening to that because it's about, always about, the relationship with yourself and nurturing that. The reality TV star said that she is not looking to have a boyfriend at the moment, but she is happy going out and flirting.
The couple announced their split via separate posts on their respective social media on March 15th, and Katie Maloney officially filed for divorce on March 22nd. The former couple is now ready to move on in their lives, and the people around them with nothing but the best for them.
