Sarah Jessica Parker has finally addressed the drama regarding Kim Cattrall.

During a candid interview with The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, actress Sarah Jessica Parker finally opened up about her feud with former co-star Kim Cattrall.

Sarah Jessica Parker revealed that it had always been a struggle for her to talk about how things went down with Kim Cattrall, but she said that she’d try to explain how it all went down. She started by saying that people should know that it’s painful for them to keep listening to people addressing their ‘catfight’ when there is no fight and she has never uttered fighting words in her life with anyone she has worked with. The actress said that there has been no public dispute or spat or conversation or accusations made by her or her representatives in terms of "fighting" because that’s not how she likes to move forwards.

The Sex and the City actress added that she would like for people to stop addressing it as a fight because it is not the reality but there has been one person talking. Their feud or fallout dates back to 2017 when there were rumors about a third Sex and the City movie, which never saw the light of day and it all fell apart due to the contractual demands of Kim Cattrall that were not met. Sarah Jessica Parker said that she, along with Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, was disappointed but they understood that things like this happen. The actress who plays Carrie Bradshaw on the show said that it was news to her when she heard that she had behaved cruelly with Kim Cattrall during the filming of the show.

Kim Cattrall also recently mentioned that she was never friends with the cast on the show and she does not want to reconnect with them at all. She added that her decision to not reprise her role as an empowering one, to which Sarah said that she found that comment from Kim upsetting because that is not the way she recalls her experience with Kim. Kim Cattrall said in an interview with Variety last month that she's glad she wasn't engaged with the reboot show because the makers were smart enough to convert the third movie into a series. She also added that she found out about it just like everyone else, via social media.

Sarah stated that there have been far too many public discussions about Kim Cattrall's feelings about the show and that she has worked hard for many years to always be decent to everyone, to take care of people, to be responsible, and to be there for the people, both my employers and the people she feels responsible for as a show producer. And no one else has ever spoken about her in this way. Sarah went on to say that they didn't invite Kim Cattrall to be a part of the remake because she made it obvious that she didn't want to reprise her role as Samantha Jones, and it didn't seem right for them to approach her.

The actress clarified that they are not slamming her; they are simply learning, and they had no choice but to listen to her because she was making the comments in public, and she made it clear that she does not want to work as Samantha Jones or with the cast of Sex and the City, so they did what they thought was right. They heard her and did not approach her to turn the offer down. She added that the cast and crew felt comfortable moving on with her and without that part because they knew what Michael Patrick King wanted to do and he did it beautifully.

Last but not least, Sarah Jessica Parker urged the media to cease misrepresenting events since it's terrible and distressing for everyone to hear things that aren't real. Despite the schism, a second season of "And Just Like That" is in the works, with Samantha Jones remaining off-screen, gallivanting throughout Europe.
