Britney Spears is not holding her feelings back!

Britney Spears has unfollowed her sister Jamie Lynn Spears on Instagram while her sister still follows her. The unfollow move by Britney Spears comes after she called out her entire family on social media for not being supportive during her tough times, referencing her conservatorship. Britney Spears' conservatorship was finally terminated in November 2021.

In July, Britney posted, "I don’t like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes!!!!! My so-called support system hurt me deeply!!!! This conservatorship killed my dreams ... so all I have is hope, and hope is the only thing in this world that is very hard to kill ... yet people still try!!!!"

In October, a source close to Britney Spears reported to E! News, "Britney is very, very angry and hurt. She feels like Jamie Lynn totally abandoned her and let her down in the fight of her life. They were best friends and everything to each other for so long. She asked for support, and feels like Jamie Lynn turned her back on her and couldn't be bothered."

The relationship between the two sisters has always been described as ‘rocky especially after Britney Spears publicly said that she was hurt by her sister's not being there for her when she needed her the most. Jamie Lynn’s involvement in Britney Spears’ conservatorship came into the public's eye in 2019 as it was revealed that, according to the legal documents, the younger sister was named as the trustee in Britney’s SJB Revocable Trust in 2020, which was amended by Britney’s then co-conservators in 2018.

When Britney Spears appeared in court in 2019 and asked the judge to free her from the conservatorship, she called out to her family and revealed that she wants to get free from working long hours, being denied the right to remove her IUD, and wants to handle her finances. A few days later, Jamie Lynn Spears, who received a massive amount of backlash for not supporting her sister, released a public statement stating that she kept quiet because she believed that Britney Spears could speak for herself, but since it was required for her to speak, she wanted the world and her sister to know that she always supported her sister’s fight and would not benefit financially one way or the other.

Jamie Lynn’s statement: "Since the day I was born, I've only loved, adored, and supported my sister. I mean, this is my freaking big sister, before any of these bulls. I don't care if she wants to run away to a rainforest and have a zillion babies in the middle of nowhere, or if she wants to come back and dominate the world the way she has done so many times before, because I have nothing to gain or lose either way. This situation does not affect me either way, because I'm only her sister, who's only concerned about her happiness. "

In October 2021, Jamie Lynn Spears announced that she was going to release a book on her life whose rumored title was ‘I Must Confess’, and the title received backlash as it was a reference to the chorus of Britney Spears’ song ‘Babe One More Time’, and later publishers issued an apology and introduced the book with the changed title, ‘Things I Should Have Said’. Worthy Publishing wrote, "We deeply regret that incorrect and incomplete information about her book has appeared in the public space, particularly at this sensitive time for Jamie Lynn and her family."

Jamie Lynn previously stated that a portion of her book proceedings would be donated to the mental health non-profit "This Is My Brave," but the non-profit has reportedly rejected the offer. Jamie described that she started writing the book after her daughter Maddie’s near-fatal ATV accident in 2017.

Britney Spears took to her social media to dive into a sensitive topic that involved family and how the positivity around her and the power of prayer is reflecting on her career to take it forward. She said, "I had an experience three years ago where I stopped believing in God. From every angle, I was being hurt for no reason and my family was hurting me. I went into a state of shock and the way I coped was being [in] fake denial. It was too much to really face. Honestly, my family embarrassed me and hurt me deeply, tooting my own horn and seeing my past accomplishments reflecting back at me actually helped".

Britney Spears took a dig at Jamie Lynn Spears’ book and said, "Psssssssalso great news… I’m thinking of releasing a book next year but I’m having issues coming up with a title maybe my fans could help!!!! Option #1…"Shit, I really don’t know" Option #2…"I really care what people think"!!!!" What do you guys think????"

Post the unfollow move by Britney Spears, Jamie Lynn Spears took to her social media to share a screenshot where a user said, “White trash bitch I hope your daughter gets [r*ped]. Both of them." To which Jamie had replied, 'Man that's awful.' She shared the screenshot of her story with a long caption sharing her feelings. In her next post, she wrote, “I know I am blessed beyond measure, and I have so much to be thankful for... I can’t complain when there are many more important things to focus on in today’s world, so let’s all do one kind thing for someone else today, and just maybe this negativity will bring along something positive to someone who needs it. Love y’all.”

Although days later, Jamie revealed via videos that the user had reached out to her and apologized but she added, “Don’t get me wrong, I still find the comments completely atrocious and unacceptable. But, perhaps by taking that moment and trying to turn a negative into a positive, I think it could have pointed out something to them and made a change in them to where they will no longer bully or shame or be hateful to anyone else. It’s important to remember that, you know, fighting negative with negative will never win anything. So coming from a positive place instead of spreading more bullying or more hate is the only way we're ever gonna make a difference. Just remember that.”

Now, after being free of her conservatorship, Britney Spears is looking forward to planning her wedding with fiancé Sam Asghari, making music, and spreading love and positivity, definitely away from her family. And looks like the sisters have a 'lot of work' to do on their relationship.
