While DC’s upcoming superhero blockbuster Black Adam, after a lot of delays is finally set to debut in theatres on 29 July 2022, the films’ leading superstar Dwayne Johnson while recently speaking with Collider during an interview shares his views on the current cut of the epic.

Johnson said in the conversation that although the current version of Black Adam is in a really good place, he would love to see more improvement in it. "I think we're in a really good place," Johnson explained. "I think now's the time where... we take our time, yet there has to be some expediency to it because we do have to have the movie ready by next summer. I think Jaume delivered a great first cut.”

Johnson also went on to touch upon the film director Jaume Collet-Serra. “And, you know, Black Adam is the kind of movie that, from [the] beginning, it had the makings and the bones to be something unique. It all started I think with the ambition, but then it all started with our director, Jaume Collet-Serra, and I think that he is an ambitious director. He, again, comes from that cadre of very talented Spanish filmmakers who want to get in and want to disrupt industry and disrupt craft, and he does it I think in such a great way. I also like that... At this point of the cut, there is a clear and defining anchor to Black Adam's code, and I think that's really important as we look to build out the character, as we look to build out the franchise, as we also look to build out the JSA and introduce them and launch them properly as well. I am happy, yet not satisfied, and we will continue to put the work in. And the teaser that we showed about three weeks ago, it was a good indicator of what's to come," he added.

Although Johnson’s Black Adam film will come under the category of PG-13 as previously disclosed by its producer Hiram Garcia. "This will be PG-13, but it’s not because we're being forced to be PG-13, the way we devised the movie, it just wasn't necessary to make it R, and it's something we discussed because we did want to be true to the character.” The film will not compromise on deadly action scenes and striking visuals as confirmed by Garcia in a separate interview. "Black Adam is edgy, right? That's gonna be a PG-13 movie where it was very much like, say, The Dark Knight, where that pushed the edges of PG-13. I think we do that very much with Black Adam. We have a very high kill count in our movie."

In addition to Dwayne Johnson in the role of Teth-Adam also known as Black Adam in Black Adam, it also features other cast members such as Noah Centineo in the role of Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge in the role of Hawkman, Sarah Shahi in the role of Adrianna Tomaz, Quintessa Swindell in the role of a Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan in the role of Kent Nelson also known as Doctor Fate.

With the film being produced under the banner of DC Films in association with New Line Cinema, Seven Bucks Productions, and FlynnPictureCo, it. is set to be the eleventh entry in the DC Extended Universe and a spin-off to Shazam! released in 2019.
