Building a family for yourself is not an easy job. Several times, even the most deserving would-be parents are left wanting to hold their own child in their hands. Fortunately enough, science and humanitarian services have advanced sufficiently to help people start families using IVF, surrogacies, and adoption.

Though not many people are wealthy enough to pursue a surrogate baby, many celebrities have embarked on the journey and welcomed home their children. Securing someone willing enough to carry your child to full-term gestation is a big blessing, and many stars recognize the sacrifice of people who helped them become new parents or add new members to their families.

Recently, Michael Turchin and Lance Bass welcomed home twins after three years of trying to become parents. Telling Us Weekly in 2018 that he was ready to become a parent, he said,  “I don’t think anyone is really prepared to have kids. I think you just have to go with the flow… We have tons of friends who have gone through the process. We’re interviewing everyone.”

The ‘NSync alum then shared in January 2019 that they had been through 6 donors and were then “on donor No. 7.”

The Out Of Sync artist said, “I think we broke a record with how many donors we’ve gone through. But it’s looking like this next one is actually going to work. We’re being cautious.”

Unfortunately, all of the couple's efforts were proving for not, and they were failing at their dream of becoming parents. The singer told Us back in March 2020, “We have tons of friends that are doing IVF, and it was definitely consoling to know that they all went through the same thing we went through. It’s just disappointing."

Telling how "heartbreaking" it was, he added, "You work so hard for this, you get pregnant, and weeks later, it doesn’t stick. But to know that some of your friends have gone through the same thing, you feel like you’re a part of this family. It just makes you feel a little more normal.”

And yet, the couple did not give up hope and agreed for trying again, and finally, they shared the good news in June 2021, saying that their twins were “Coming soon.” Later, Bass told Us Weekly that the “10th donor was the one that worked.”

The difficult journey of welcoming a baby through surrogacy and finally getting to realize their dreams helped bring Turchin and the actor "closer together." In August 2021, the actor said, “I didn’t think that we could love each other more and have a bigger bond, but when you go through an experience of trying to start a family, and it’s just not working, it could either tear you apart or bring you closer together. … It was quite the journey.”

Celebrities including Kim Kardashian and former husband Kanye West welcomed home baby Psalm, and Jimmy Fallon and Nancy Juvonen became parents through surrogacy, too. Here are many other celebs who helped make true their dreams of welcoming young ones into their family via surrogate parents.

Brittany Daniel and Adam Touni

Celebrity couple Brittany Daniel and Adam Touni brought home their daughter, Hope, through a surrogate parent in October 2021 last year. The Sweet High Valley star was aided by twin sister Cynthia Daniel, who donated the egg for surrogacy.

"Meet our baby girl Hope Rose Touni. Our hearts are bursting with joy. It’s been a long road to get here, but we always remained hopeful that we would one day become parents. Thank you, @adam.touni, for being an unbelievably supportive partner and now dad. Thank you to our surrogate, who carried our baby so beautifully. Hope, we love witnessing who you are, just as you are. We love you! Link in bio for @people article #surrogacy #ThereIsAlways Hope." wrote the star on Instagram welcoming her daughter.

The France couple welcomed home their son Ismail last year in August 2021. The Queer Eye star shared their happy news on Instagram, saying, "Give our son a warm welcome. Ismail France, born July 10th. He came 7 weeks early. So he’s been in the NICU for the past 3 weeks. But today, we finally got to bring him home. We love him so, so much. Like, fully obsessed." He added, "Our Surrogate is doing so great, post-labor, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the greatest gift in our lives.”

Kristen Welker and John Hughes

Kristen Welker and John Hughes had a stunning story to share about the birth of their baby. The couple spent a lot of time with their surrogate partner to support her and also helped deliver the little child. They shared at The Today Show, "We stayed in rooms next to each other and visited throughout so that we and little Margot could thank her for bringing Margot into the world.”

Amber Heard

Last year was definitely the time when so many celebs got to welcome home their children. The star brought home a daughter, Oonagh Paige, after a four-year-long struggle. Amber Heard shared, "Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child. I wanted to do it on my own terms. I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way. I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalized to not want a ring in order to have a crib."

Heard added, "A part of me wants to uphold that my private life is none of anyone’s business. I also get that the nature of my job compels me to take control of this. My daughter was born on April 8, 2021. Her name is Oonagh Paige Heard. She’s the beginning of the rest of my life."
