While he may have given moviegoers the highest-grossing Bond films of all times: Daniel Craig will not be leaving his children any of his earnings, after his death. In a recent interview with Candis Magazine, the actor stressed the fact that he believed the idea of an inheritance to be ‘distasteful’ saying: "I think Andrew Carnegie gave away what in today's money would be about 11 billion dollars, which shows how rich he was because I'll bet, he kept some of it, too!” He continued, "But I don't want to leave great sums to the next generation, “I think inheritance is quite distasteful. My philosophy is get rid of it or give it away before you go."

The English actor is best known for starring in the leading role in four of the last James Bond films, namely; Quantum of Solace, Spectre, Skyfall, and Casino Royale. In 2006, Craig made his debut as Bond in Casino Royal, a casting choice that stirred up controversy among fans of the franchise, many of whom threatened to boycott the movie, as Craig did not fit the ‘tall, dark, and handsome’ image popularized by other actors who had played the role before Craig.

However, past Bonds, such as Timothy Dalton, Sean Connery, and even Peirce Brosnan had come out in support of the actor being cast in the role of the beloved MI6 spy. Casino Royale earned $606 million worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing Bond film; a box office record, only to be surpassed by the actor’s third outing as Bond in 2012’s Skyfall. In his fourth starring role as James Bond in 2015’s Spectre, Craig continued to draw audiences in, making the movie the highest-grossing film of the year. The actor will reprise his role as the MI6 spy in No Time to Die, due for release in October 2021. He will be joined by an enviable star cast, including Rami Malek, Ben Whishaw, Christoph Waltz, Lea Seydoux, and Naomie Harris.

In an interview with Stephen Colbert, on Late Night With Stephen Colbert, Craig confirmed that No Time to Die will be his last cinematic outing as Bond. In the past, the actor has made known his discomfort with playing the character, saying that the best thing about the role was the money it made him. The Bond movies did make Daniel Craig rich by quite a few million, with the actor’s net worth estimated to be around $160 million. However, as relayed by the actor in his recent interview with Candis Magazine, there is little chance that any of this money will be passed down to any of the actor’s children.

Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz have been married since 2011, and share a daughter together. The Bond star was previously married to Fiona Loudon, with whom he also shares a daughter. The actor was last seen in 2019’s Knives Out as Detective Benoit Blanc.
