On October 18, 2021, at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, California, a huge piece of casting news was announced during the premiere of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's "Eternals." The stars appeared on the red carpet with their families, looking as stunning as ever. The star-studded event was live-streamed on the studio's social media sites, allowing fans from all around the world to participate.

The revelation that "Watermelon Sugar" singer and actor Harry Styles will be a member of the Marvel Universe as Thanos' brother, Eros, was announced at the premiere.

Matt Donnelly was the first to report the news, writing on Twitter, "Big announcement from #TheEternals premiere—Harry Styles has joined the MCU as Eros, Thanos' brother." "When Harry Styles shows up in the MCU," Marc Malkin tweeted afterward. "There was a squeal from the audience." As of currently, nothing is known about Harry's persona, but it is said that, in contrast to Thanos' power-hungry tendencies, the character is described as "carefree" and "womanizing."

According to The New York Post, "Eros" was most likely inspired by the Greek god of love and sex of the same name (the counterpart to the Roman god Cupid). It's also worth noting that the word "Eros" is the root of phrases like "erotic," which perfectly describes the vocalist of "Watermelon Sugar."

Meanwhile, Thanos, who was played by Josh Brolin, was killed by Thor in "Avengers: Infinity Wars," before reappearing as a previous version of himself and being snapped in the film's final epic battle sequence. It is unclear whether the next film will be a continuation of the story or a look back at the pair's history.

Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, and Kit Harington, among others, feature in the MCU film directed by Oscar-winner Chloé Zhao ("Nomadland"), which is planned to be released on November 5th, 2021. The film describes a secretive race of the eternal with remarkable skills that live on Earth. When the fearsome Deviants, long thought to be extinct, make their reappearance, the Eternals are forced to reassemble to protect mankind once more.

According to some accounts, Harry Styles plays Eros in the "Eternals" surprise post-credit scene. One Marvel Cinematic Universe character said, "Eros is Thanos' brother, but he's the polar opposite. He's compassionate, caring, and he can literally take [sic] people's emotions," They tweeted, "Basically, Harry is playing Harry." Even though no official confirmation from Marvel Studios has been received.

If Harry Styles gets cast as Eros in Marvel Studios films, it will be his fourth feature film role, the first being in Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk." His second leading role is in the upcoming film "Don't Worry Darling," which stars Florence Pugh and has already piqued the interest of the public because it is the film in which Harry Styles and now-girlfriend and director Olivia Wilde first met.

According to one production insider, the One Direction singer's third feature film, "My Policeman," will include a graphic sex scene between Styles and co-star David Dawson, which will be crafted to look "as real as possible." Emma Corrin also appears in the film. Meanwhile, the "Treat People With Kindness" singer is currently on the road with his "Love On Tour," which comes to a close next month in Los Angeles.
