Meghan Markle talks about her time on ‘Deal or No Deal.

In a new episode of Archetypes, Meghan Markle speaks to Paris Hilton, where the two women break down the term "bimbo" and the dumb blonde trope that has stuck with Paris Hilton for most of her career.

During the conversation, Meghan Markle shared her experience with the term while she appeared on "Deal or No Deal" in 2006, where the former actress was a briefcase girl. Meghan said that the experience was fascinating, but she decided to quit the show because she felt like she was not valued in the way she desired to be.

Meghan shared with Paris that there were times on set at the show and thinking back to her time when she was working as an intern at the US Embassy in Argentina and Bueno Aires and being in a motorcade with the Secretary of Treasury at the time and being valued specifically for her brain, adding that here she was being valued for something quite the opposite and stated that it was solely about beauty and not necessarily about brains.

The Suits actress said that while her job as a briefcase girl on Deal or No Deal provided her with benefits and financial security, she kept auditioning to be an actress, and eventually, she decided to leave the show. Meghan explained that she ended up quitting the show and she was thankful for the job but not for how it made her feel, which was not smart. The Duchess said that she was surrounded by smart women on the stage with her, but that was not the focus of why they were there, and she would end up leaving with a pit in her stomach knowing that she was worth so much more than what she was being objectified too.

Meghan concluded that she did not like feeling forced to be all about looks and little substance, adding that it’s not how it felt for her, being reduced to this specific archetype. She also stated that before the show's tapings, the models would line up for various stations such as lashes, extensions, and bra padding. Every week, the women were also given spray tan vouchers. When she said that she thinks back on that time, there's one detail that she will never forget; there was a woman who ran the show, and she'd be their backstage, and she can still hear her explaining that she couldn't say her last name correctly at the time, and she knew who she was talking to because she'd say, "Markle, take it in! Markle, take it in!" The episode is the sixth to be released thus far, following a month-long hiatus following Queen Elizabeth's death on September 8.

According to Deadline, Netflix has delayed the documentary series about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, which was expected to premiere in December. The reason for the postponement to 2023 is the reaction of former UK Prime Minister John Major to the upcoming season of "The Crown." Netflix told Deadline that there's never been any docudrama from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex approved.

The "Crown" storyline that angered Major depicted then-Prince Charles meeting with Major to whine and moan about not being appointed to the crown to replace his mother, Queen Elizabeth. Netflix declined, asserting at the time that it has always presented 'The Crown' as a drama, and they have every trust in their representatives to understand it's a work of fiction sparsely based on historical events.
