After his untimely death, how is Taylor Hawkins being remembered?

The world is still recovering from the news that was reported on March 25th, 2022, that Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins had passed away in Bogota. The official page of the band confirmed the news, asked for some privacy, and urged everyone to treat the situation with the utmost respect.

As soon as the news was out, celebrities, friends, and fans took to their social media accounts to respond to the tragic news of one of the legendary drummers in the history of rock music passing away. A lot of fans gathered around the hotel Foo Fighters were living in while in Bogota to pay their respects to the late drummer.

Foo Fighters were one of the performers for the Asunción Festival 2022 in Paraguay which was eventually canceled due to harsh weather conditions in the country. The drummer made sure to meet his 9-year-old fan Emma Sofía who is also a drummer and was waiting outside the band's hotel to meet them. The nine-year-old Emma played The Pretender along with other hit songs of the band until Taylor Hawkins appeared to meet her. Emma's father shared a picture of his daughter and the late drummer stating that dreams do come true.

Ozzy Osbourne wrote that Taylor Hawkins was one of the greatest people and an amazing musician. Ozzy sent his condolences to Taylor’s family, the Foo Fighters' family, and the fans.

Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker also shared a post on his social media with Taylor Hawkins’ picture and a caption that read that he has no words to describe the feeling right now. Travis added that he is extremely sad to write this because he will never get to see Taylor Hawkins again but he is never going to forget the Laguna Beach days when Travis Barker was playing in a punk rock band and Taylor Hawkins was playing for Alanis. Travis recalled that Taylor came up to him and said, "He’s a star," and although Travis did not believe him back then, he added that the comment gave him so much hope and determination.

Miley Cyrus also shared a couple of pictures of the drummer and wrote that that is how she was going to remember him and dedicated her show in the memory of the late Taylor Hawkins. She also recalled her favorite memory with the drummer, which was dancing around his drum kit while he played "Brass in Pocket." She dedicated her song 'Angles Like You' to Taylor and told the audience that when she had to take an emergency landing, Taylor Hawkins was the first person she called. 

Tommy Lee also shared that he spoke to Taylor Hawkins four hours before he tragically passed away. He wrote that typing words had never been difficult and added, "F*********!!!!..this hits so f***** hard!" Tommy added that he had just spoken to him a few hours ago and he hoped that all of this was just some dream or a bad prank that they would later laugh about, but it’s not. Tommy Lee mentioned that Taylor Hawkins knew how much he loved him and there was no need for him to type all of that on social media for others to read.

Guns N’ Roses lead singer Axl Rose also expressed his sadness by remembering Taylor Hawkins and describing him as a great drummer and a family man. Axl Rose added that he was looking forward to seeing Taylor and everyone in Daytona, but now he is extremely sad to hear the news.

John Travolta also shared a picture of him with the band from the 2018 show and described Taylor Hawkins as a truly gifted, appreciative, generous, and fun man and added that the world is going to miss him.

Finneas also took to his social media to share that he was heartbroken to hear the news of Taylor Hawkins’ passing away, as he was an incredibly talented man who was kind and generous and cool. He added that the world was lucky to have him for the time it did.

Ringo Starr, a fellow drummer, also shared a photo of the late drummer, adding that God bless Taylor, his family, and the band members. The official account of the rock band Nickelback also posted a picture of the late drummer and said in a statement that the news of Taylor Hawkins' passing away is surreal and passed on their condolences to Taylor’s family, friends, bandmates, and fans who were touched by the music that he created with the Foo Fighters and Alanis Morissette.

Machine Gun Kelly also took to Twitter to share his grief and wrote that he had the honor of sharing stories and laughing with the Foo Fighters crew in Paraguay. Colson added that he showed up with twenty people and Taylor Hawkins spoke to every one of them, giving his piece of heart to everyone as he made them feel accepted and included. Machine Gun Kelly lastly added, "THAT is a legacy!"

The Foo Fighters are nominated for three Grammy Awards this year, including Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song, and Best Rock Album.
