Peta Murgatroyd feels good.
Peta Murgatroyd is going to be back on stage with the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars, and she is grateful.
ABC and Disney+ recently announced the names of the celebrities who would be participating in season 31 of Dancing with the Stars, and Peta Murgatroyd is returning on-stage alongside dance floor partner Jason Lewis.
During the virtual press conference, Peta Murgatroyd explained that she feels that it’s a good time to be back on the show and stated that so much has been going on in the past year and a half with Maksim Chmerkovskiy and his family, and added that Maks was in Ukraine with the war and then her with constant miscarriages and now one round of IVF, which unfortunately failed.
Peta Murgatroyd mentioned that she took it upon herself to go back to her roots and after the first IVF failed, she was thinking about what she wanted to do and what made her happiest so that she could get through a tough phase of her life and she realized that all this time she had been missing dancing, so she decided to take up the Dancing With the Stars challenge and said that it’s the best decision she has made because she is not stressing now.
Peta Murgatroyd explained that it’s not like oh god, is she pregnant, and added that the constant worry about when she and her partner are going to have a second baby was stressing them out, but now with being back on stage and dancing and doing something she feels the happiest at, it's taking her mind off all the stress and she appreciated her partner, Jason Lewis, stating that she is doing something she loves with a great guy.
While Maksim Chmerkovskiy is on daddy duty with their son Shai, who is five years old and has started kindergarten, whereas Peta Murgatroyd is back in the ballroom and she shares that Maks is such a proud father and he is on father duty with no grandparents and nannies around him to help him out. It’s just him doing everything she said and added that he is doing a great job.
Jason Lewis also stated during the press conference that it was his engaged partner, Liz Godwin, who persuaded him to enter the competition. He said that she is a fantastic support and that he had always said no to the program since he saw it as reality television and it wasn't his area of interest. This year, Liz Godwin urged him to be a bit less stubborn and at the very least, watch the performance.
Jason continued that it’s incredibly beautiful and the dancers are so talented and mentioned when his fiancée got to know that he was paired with Peta Murgatroyd. Liz was thrilled and Jason stated that Liz had a short list of people that she hoped he would be paired up with and Peta Murgatroyd was one of them. Jason added that it was fun because not only did Liz keep him up to speed, but she was also very enthusiastic about him, which is very encouraging and motivating.
Jason also said that he is not a great dancer and he is insecure and self-conscious, so the ability to take a space like this is a fear-based space for himself. Peta Murgatroyd, who he described as being nice and patient, is an excellent teacher, and he is fortunate to have her educate him, he continued. Jason Lewis was also praised by Peta Murgatroyd as a fascinating and capable pupil. She said that although he is a touch stiff, he has a fantastic frame and that all he has to concentrate on is grooving and flowing.
Peta added that she is excited for them to start performing and is looking forward to exploring the various types of dances with her partner including tango and with the rumbas and others which Peta thinks that they can use it to their advantage because she thinks that Jason has something that others won't like he can tap into characters with his acting ability so well. Both of them are looking forward to have a good time on the show and showcase their best self and win the audience's hearts.
Season 31 of Dancing with the Stars premieres Sept. 19 on Disney+.
