The New Amazon series starring Charlie Day and Jenny Slate, I Want You Back, is a show based on two people pining away after their lost loves who have found their happiness with other partners. The frustrated duo joins heads to hatch schemes so that they could get their exes back and ruin their present relationships. The show also stars Gina Rodriguez, the ex-girlfriend Anne to Charlie Day's character Peter. She is together with Manny Jacinto's character Logan.

Rodriguez and Jacinto spoke with Screen Rant to discuss their all-time favorite rom-com couples, what to do after suffering a breakup, and more.

Manny Jacinto and Gina Rodriguez started their interview by sharing their favorite rom-com couples. It is Harry and Sally for Jacinto, while Gina Rodriguez likes George and Amal Clooney. However, Gina also shared, "But I love me some, you know, Monster-in-Law was my favorite rom-com. It was like J. Lo, and Jane Fonda was my favorite couple. The two of them together."

Just as they finished talking about their favorite rom-com couples, the two actors shared their best list of things to do after a breakup. Moving on after a relationship is never the easiest task, but at times, people make it more complicated by wanting to get back together with their exes. Jacinto and Rodriguez strongly advised against it and shared that the first step after a breakup is to throw away your phone so that you can not look at it.

"First thing would be throwing your phone away. Do not look at your phone. Get that out of there," said Jacinto with a lot of emphasis, to which Rodriguez added, "Then you hang out with this person as much as they'll let you. You just occupy their time. You occupy your friend's time. You guys go and hang out. Maybe go to the park, go for a hike, get massages, do whatever is financially capable for you. But to spend some time with that friend so that their loneliness doesn't send them into picking up that phone that you asked them to throw out."

Jacinto added his final step, sharing that when you are done with hanging out with your friends and diverting your find, find the courage to spend time with yourself and look into your being. He shared that allow yourself time to grow, and soon, things will start turning for the better.

Manny Jacinto then went on to talk about his movie Top Gun: Maverick, and though the film arrived a long time ago, there is still a lot of anticipation about the latest installment. There is yet no release date for the movie, "But when it does come out, it's gonna be worth it, guys! It's gonna be worth the wait. 30+ years," he shared. "So if you guys can wait that long, you can wait another three months."

Charlie Day and Jenny Slate also shared their guide to dealing with a breakup with Day, expressing that "You gotta focus on you" to get out of the hurt, to which Slate agreed. Day further explained, "We got to start taking care of you, alright? Did you get a bath? Take a nice hot bath. You know what I mean? Get some Epsom salts in there," and Slate put in "Have some wine," before countering, "but don't become an alcoholic."

The duo also advised people to go out with their friends or even move in with them if the need be. If that is not an option, simply build upon socializing and talking with people (though not with the intention of beginning a new relationship).

Just like Jacinto and Rodriguez, Slate and Day also agreed that the most functional of all steps is to stay away from your phone and social media. They also suggested leaving the bed, the house, and even the country to go out on a vacation or just walk into nature for a while. Jenny joked, "But don't walk into the sea. You know what I mean?"

The series also features Jenny Slate singing "Little Shop of Horror - Suddenly Seymour" in a really pristine voice. The actress shared that she loved the film when she was a child and even attended a production of the film in Camp Tapawingo in Sweden, Maine, back in the 90s. "I was in the chorus, and did not have a lead. So this was a real in-your-face-type moment for that counselor who gave me a small part," she revealed.

Jenny Slate and Charlie Day also revealed their favorite rom-com couples, saying that they loved Hanks and Ryan. "I love that Hanks and Ryan team-up. I mean, you got You've Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle...," said Day. They also named Joe Versus the Volcano as one of their favorite works of the duo.

Charlie Day has also been cast in the latest Mario movie as Luigi and has already started recording for the film. The actor also had a talk about the film with Jimmy Kimmel on his night show, and yet, there is still so much that the cast does not know about the film. Day, in fact, likened the film to the Marvel Universe, considering the complexity of the plot.

Sharing that he knows very little about the film, he said, "They released to me the very specific lines, and they call me in and say, "Say Mario 7000 different ways, and then we'll pick which one we want." So I know almost nothing."

The film was released on 11th February and is available to premiere on Amazon Prime.
