After starring in the role of Nymeria Sand in probably what turned out to be one of the most popular and successful television series of this decade, to say the least Games of Thrones, followed by her role of the X-wing pilot in Star Wars: The Force Awakens released in 2015, Colleen Wing in Marvel Studios Netflix series Iron Fist released 2017-2018, The Defenders released 2017 and Luke Cage released 2018, The Matrix Resurrections star Jessica Henwick says she never would have never thought that she would ever get the opportunity to work on such big shows and movies like the HBO Max superhit and the fourth installment in the Matrix franchise.

Henwick, who is set to appear in the upcoming Lana Wachows helmed Matrix film, The Matrix Resurrections as Bugs to take the viewers once again through the Matrix world along with Keanu Reeves’ cybercriminal and programmer Neo also known as Thomas Anderson, and Carrie-Anne Moss’ Trinity in the movie, while having a recent discussion with Collider around her Matrix movie recalled how quickly she has been able to climb the ladder of her acting when asked what would her younger self react to about the fact that she has gotten herself at a stage where she is now getting opportunities to work in big projects such as Blade Runner and The Matrix

“I probably wouldn’t believe it. I remember when I got Game of Thrones, and I was a fan before I got the show. I would watch it with my brothers, and I remember my younger brother saying, “Why don’t you try to get in on that? How cool would that be?” I said, “Are you kidding me? They’re never gonna let me on Game of Thrones. That’s not gonna happen.” And then, when I got Game of Thrones, I remember saying, “This is probably the biggest thing I’ll ever do and it’s all gonna be smaller from here on out. That was a fluke.” And then, when I got Iron Fist, my brother messaged me and was like, “You’re number one on IMDb.” It was funny because we had a discussion prior where he said, “What number are you and IMDb?” And I said, “It doesn’t matter. It’s not gonna be high. I’m never gonna get high.” And it kept happening. If you’d told me, as a child, that I was gonna be in The Matrix, I would have said, “There’s no chance that’s gonna happen.” And it was the same thing with Blade Runner. It’s just a really lucky streak,” Henwick said, explaining that at no point in time she could have thought of getting roles in projects like Game of Thrones or The Matrix Resurrections of which she describes herself as a big fan of even before featuring in them.

While the 29-year-old Chinese actress Jessica Henwick will be joining Keanu Reeves and other cast members in The Matrix Resurrections, Henwick is also cast in the voice of Elle in the popular Japanese-American anime show Blade Runner: Black Lotus, a part of the Black Runner universe, with the plot centering around a female replicant protagonist.
