Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kanye West in February 2021 after 7 years of being married. The reality show star and the multi-Grammy award-winning rapper married in 2014, had 4 children together, before mutually agreeing before a judge in April 2021 to end their marriage citing ‘irreconcilable differences.' The former couple agreed on joint custody without spousal support, but recent developments indicate that perhaps this may not be the last we see of Kim and Kanye as a couple.

Cut to last month, Kanye hosted a listening party for his upcoming album, Donda, at a grand event in Atlanta, and Kim was in attendance, with Khloe and her four children in tow. This was a first for the former couple, who haven't been spotted together in the months since Kim filed for divorce early this year. At the party, Kanye was visibly upset even as he performed ‘Love Unconditionally’, a song with lyrics that have since come to be perceived as referencing the breakdown of Kanye and Kim’s marriage. ‘Love Unconditionally’ opened with a voiceover from the ‘Gold Digger’ hitmaker’s mother, Donda, saying "No matter what, you never abandon your family" - followed by Kanye repeatedly rapping: "I'm losing my family, I'm losing my family."

That was the first listening party for Kanye’s upcoming album Donda. The rapper just hosted the second listening party for the unreleased album and Kim was in attendance yet again. Kim attended the event in a black Balenciaga outfit, much like Kanye, and stayed while he performed even more songs referencing their breakup. At the second listening party, Kanye unveiled updated lyrics to “Love Unconditionally” in which the rapper pleads with Kim to ‘come back.' He rapped, "I'm losing all my family, darling come back to me," while down on his knees. He performed yet another song, in which the lyrics hinted at the possibility that the reality star was still in love with him. With Kim looking on from the crowd, Kanye rapped, "but you came here to show that you're still in love with me."

In his lyrics, Kanye also referenced the impact on the kids as a result of the divorce, rapping, "Daddy, how could you leave?" The ‘Keeping Up with The Kardashians’ star and Kanye have both been candid and expressive about the dissolution of their marriage. These new lyrics from the upcoming album Donda were preceded by Kim’s openness on the subject of the end of her marriage on the final season of her reality show.  The couple began dating in 2012 and married in 2014. Seven years later, Kim filed for divorce in early 2021.

Kanye West has been in the news for his disastrous 2020 presidential, his politics, his commentary on race issues in the US, and his erratic public outbursts. Kim just wrapped up the final season of KUWTK and continues to find success as a celebrity/entrepreneur with an enviable following.
