Kathy Griffin, an American comedian sailing in the darkest phase of her life is now combating lung cancer. She was very well known for her satire comedy and controversies. The humourist affirmed she was forbidden from many shows over her long journey of comedy.

She reports that nothing can compete with the repercussions she had to face from her 2017 photoshoot in which she had a mask that was styled as chopped off the bloodstained head of US President of that time, Donald Trump. By June 2020, she was in the agony of painkiller addiction and self-destruction.

In the thick of the blowback, Griffin and her near and dear ones were threatened to murder. She never had a single glass of alcohol in her life from being born in an Irish family she maintained the soberness of her character but she realized later that she has gotten addicted to drugs.

She stated in agony that she had suicidal thoughts when she can’t make her followers laugh. But she survived.

Another trouble was knocking at Griffin’s door, it was her malignant tumor in her right lung, and have to get her one lung removed. The situational irony was that now she didn’t want to die. Over a year ago when she was diagnosed with cancer she wanted to live.

She said the last time she was in the hospital was June 2020 when she tried to take her life by overdosing herself with pills. By the end of the year, she was clean and drug-free. She also said that she is more scared by drugs addiction rather than cancer.

Griffin addressed her followers saying that the surgery went successful and hope no chemo is done after the surgery. With a positive gesture, she said she will be up running as before in a couple of few months. It’s been wicked 4 years, now without looking back she wants to stand up once again making everyone laugh and entertain people.

After hard detoxification that included trembling, sweating her husband Randy Bick had to help her in  daily chores.

Griffin said she has retrieved from her addiction and is hopeful and confident for her future. Now when she has started seeing the optimistic side of her life, she will not indulge herself in any wrong means which will be bad for her health now. In the end, she said at the age of 60 she will start a new life.
