Brooklyn Nine-Nine has come to an end, and there is no way you could miss its one last heist.

The police sitcom has had its fair shares of twists and turns over the years, especially during the crew's heists, and the final episode was chock-full of them, too. The previously Fox and now NBC show paid fitting homage to its many previous episodes in the last heist, and the Halloween episode will now forever be at the top of your 'favorites episodes' list.

The last episode borders on sentimental, just as you would expect any series finale to be, but it comes with a healthy dose of humor. It held an air of ambiguity, making fans want to know what could have happened next if the season continued. But rest assured, the crewmates of Nine-Nine will continue to be friends.

The episode showed the cocky Jake deciding to walk away from the police station to become a stay-at-home dad. He wishes to hold one last game of heist before Holt and Amy leave for One Police Plaza. As it would be so unlike Jake if he didn't create a sophisticated plan to win at his own game, he uses the heist to say goodbye and win the heist prize. Similarly, everyone in the game tries to overshadow the others and do their best to win.

We see Gina returning one last time in the hopes of winning the heist, too, Teddy tricking Jake into thinking that he was in a coma for seven years, and Holt promoting Terry to Captain while he is promoted to be the Deputy Commissioner.

The scenes were paired with a lot of emotions on the parts of all the characters. Of course, because it is Brooklyn Nine-Nine, everything was extremely chaotic, and yet the finale would leave you feeling sated. We also see Jake and Holt saying their emotional goodbye as Jake finally matures and Holt learns to lighten up.

But apart from the usual mystique of heists and the characters' charm and sarcasm, the show was also 'woke' enough to shed light on the modern-day police unfairness and highlighted conversations about race. Especially since we live in a period where we see extreme police brutality along with frequent racist injustices that happen each day, a mention of all that the police do wrong was necessary. Though no show could do justice to the horrific real-life events of the society, the series definitely tried.

Nevertheless, the finale didn't lose its humor, and there was no other way the characters would wish to leave the long-running series. The finale also left enough storylines hanging as they were, and that is one way to keep people standing on their toes if there is evermore going to come. But that might be wishful thinking, too.
