The world is still in shock with the passing of the King of Spin, Shane Warne. Elizabeth Hurley, who was previously engaged to the Australian spinner, is mourning his passing away.

Elizabeth Hurley took to her social media to pay tribute to her ex-fiance and Australian spinner, Shane Warne, by sharing a picture of the two with a caption, "I feel like the sun has gone behind a cloud forever. RIP my beloved Lionheart." Elizabeth Hurley’s son, Damian Hurley, also took to social media to express his grief in the wake of the passing of Shane Warne.

Damian Hurley wrote that he is still trying to process the news of Shane Warne’s passing away and called the late Australian spinner a father figure to him in his most formative years of life. Damian Hurley also called Shane Warne one of the best men he’s ever known and mentioned that his heart is broken right now with the news and he is sending love to all of Shane Warne’s family.

Elizabeth Hurley and Shane Warne met in 2010 when they were spotted kissing in London, and their affair became one of the most talked-about things at the time. Elizabeth Hurley who had recently been separated from Indian textiles heir and businessman Arun Nayar during the time, was linked with Shane Warne.

Elizabeth and Arun decided to get married in 2007, but eventually separated in 2010, and their divorce was finalized in 2011. To clear the air of cheating rumors, Elizabeth Hurley tweeted that she and Arun separated a few months ago and their family and friends are aware of it. Shane and Elizabeth shared a few flirty tweets here and there, and after her divorce was finalized, their relationship started to strengthen.

Shane and Elizabeth announced their engagement in 2011, and it was confirmed that Shane proposed to her at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Both of them spoke very highly of each other but eventually decided to separate in 2013. The two of them remained friends, and as Damian mentioned, Shane was a father figure to him, but the romance between the two had just fizzled out.

Shane Warne, in his interview with 96 FM radio in Perth back in 2018, shared that it was nothing that either of them did, but things just got a bit difficult for them and it just didn’t work out. During "A Week with Warnie" in 2020, Shane Warne spoke highly of Elizabeth Hurley and shared that he still cared about her deeply and that she was a wonderful person. He also mentioned that he made his kids meet her only when he felt that it was real and he was really sad when things between them ended. A lot of reports do suggest that the two of them remained good friends.

While investigating Shane Warne’s death, it has been reported that the spinner had complained of chest pains before he took a trip to Thailand’s Koh Samui. Shane Warne was living at the Samujan resort along with a couple of his friends. The cause of his death is being known as a heart attack, and his body will be flown back to Australia, where Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has offered a state funeral.

Shane Warne’s business manager, Andrew Neophitou, who was accompanying him on his trip, was attempting CPR until the medical team arrived. The chief of the local rescue team, Phet Boonrak, shared that when they arrived, Shane Warne’s pulse was weak. That’s when they tried to give CPR and called the ambulance. A statement from his team was released, stating that Shane Warne was found unresponsive in his villa and that, despite the best efforts of the medical team, they, unfortunately, failed to revive him, hence was declared dead.
