DCEU introduced Steve Agee to The Suicide Squad last year as John Economos. The actor will be reprising his role in the studios and once again working out his character on the HBO Max spinoff, Peacemaker.

The series is solely based on John Cena's character, famously known as his titular name, Peacemaker. Economos works on the series in Christopher Smith's team, where he will stop an alien invasion with his team on the Project Butterfly. The Suicide Squad alum, Steve Agee's John Economos, works under the directorship of James Gunn, and the two bring together a very impressive comedic duo.

The actor recently sat with Screen Rant for an interview where he talked about his latest HBO Max project Peacemaker. The series has already aired five of its episodes, and a few episodes deep into the series, Steve Agee shared that there is a chance for King Shark to come again in the DCEU.

Steve Agee started by sharing that the series has an unskippable intro that now audience fans would not want to miss. "Even now that we're five episodes into it it's still like, "I guess I gotta watch this." It's unlike anything that I've ever seen. When we got the script, I was like, "Wait, there's what? There's a dance number? This is Peacemaker. Why is there? Okay." I learned to just not question James at all."

The team of Peacemaker had just ended with their The Suicide Squad shooting a few weeks before the pandemic hit in, and everyone was locked down. Agee shared, "I had not been working for most of 2020, and James had not been working either. He was bored, and he wrote eight episodes in eight weeks."

He added, "Then he called me, he's like, "Hey, we're gonna do this. They greenlit it." And from the time he told me, till the time I ended up in Vancouver, it was only two months. It was super fast. I was really stoked. Economos was pretty one-dimensional in the movie and, with this, I have a whole arc, which really pays off by the end. I'm really stoked about it."

When jokingly asked what Steve Agee thinks King Shark does in his time off, the actor jested, "I imagine he's swimming around the ocean or something. He beat his jail sentence. I imagine that he's probably in the ocean. Maybe he's killing swimmers. I don't know."

Asked if Steve Agee would play his role of King Shark once again, the actor said, "I would be willing to. I had a really good time playing King Shark. It afforded me the opportunity to work with amazing people like Idris Elba, Margot Robbie, and Joel Kinnaman."

But the actor also added, "Had I just been doing Economos, that wouldn't have been the case. So it was awesome. It was a blast. I would do it again in a heartbeat."

Additionally, the script had pretty weird ideas lined up for the film. Talking about the moment when Peacemaker got angry at King Shark for framing his father, Agee let know that it was all "improvised."

He revealed, "I think in the original script, he's mad at me for framing his father – rightfully so, that was stupid – but in the script, it was just like, "Why couldn't you have framed somebody like Ariana Grande?" And there was one other name, like Tom Hanks or something, and I was like, "You want me to frame Ariana Grande for murder? Are you insane?" But James was like, "Just keep going. Start naming names. Just name people."

Luckily enough, the two characters finally came together, and Seve Agee truly enjoyed the moments when they found their common ground. "I was really excited because it's all part of the character arc for John Economos, as well as Peacemaker, who in The Suicide Squad was pretty one-dimensional."

Beginning to retell the story, he shared, The movie started off at point A, and Peacemaker is a jerk. At the very end of the movie, he's still a jerk. He doesn't change at all, but a lot of the other characters do. That's the whole reason we're doing this TV series is James wanted to justify why he was the way he is, and he wanted to dig into that. But in doing so, characters like John Economos and Emilia Harcourt also get to develop."

The actor added that seeing his character develop with time made him very happy. Seeing him rise above from being the  "butt of everybody's jokes" to someone who actually stood up for himself was a great thing for his character. "That's what James does best. He does action and everything really well, but he was really great with character work and relationships," he said.

The actor then talked about his poorly dyed beard in the film and how it came about to be a part of his character. "When we got to Atlanta to shoot The Suicide Squad, all I knew is James wanted me to grow my beard out, and we got there, and he's like, "I want you to dye it, obviously horribly dyed." And we never mention it in the movie," said the actor.

"I can't wait for everyone to see it. I can't wait to see it. Like I said, I was there. I'm watching these episodes now. I only saw the first three. So these last two, I've watched with the same schedule as an audience, and it's been amazing because there are a lot of scenes that I'm not in," finished the star. "I'm seeing these for the first time, and it's been awesome. I can't wait for the finale."
