Julia Roberts was deemed the fashion icon of Hollywood for a long time, and the actress never failed to impress with her spot-on style. The actress has been in the Hollywood industry for three whole decades and has been creating a buzz where her fashion is concerned. The actress had recently starred in Ben Is Back, an Amazon series, and slew the game when it came to her style. So, it would be great to see how her style evolved from the earliest of her days to today.

Gender-neutral clothing is more the thing of today, with actresses rocking power suits to red carpet events and actors like Timothee Chalamet and Harry Styles doing the same thing with skirts. But before swapping the gendered clothes became a norm in the industry, Julia Roberts believed in wearing menswear outfits to accept one of her first awards at the Golden Globe awards event. That year, she earned her accolade for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of the character in Steel Magnolias, and she did so while rocking an oversized Armani suit. Her hair fell off in fierce curls.

The same year in 1990, she attended the Oscars as a nominee in another Armani outfit. This time she wore a fitted taupe gown that fell to her feet in waves but was gathered asymmetrically at the hemline.

Not the one to miss another big occasion to show off her fashion statement, Julia chose to wear a miniskirt suit to the event that she paired off with a nice, chic boxy jacket. The long jacket just lasted enough for her to flaunt her legs. She won another Golden Globe that year as the Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for Pretty Woman in 1991.

The next signature look for the actress comes from 1999 when she went big on Ralph Lauren. The actress paired her black dress with the designer with a sultry look to outshine the night. Her black dress featured a pretty modest style at a glance but debuted nothing but a few straps and laces to hold it at the back. She attended the Emmys with her former boyfriend Benjamin Bratt and was nominated for the awards for her appearance in Law & Order.

The Toronto premiere, 2018

Taking a leaf out of her fashion book, the actress brought back some of her most iconic looks from the past when she appeared for the Toronto premiere of her film Ben Is Back in 2018. So, she went gaga over her previously legendary styles, like padded shoulders, long sleeves, high necks, and incorporated all of these in her Dsquared2 dress for the International Film Festival.

The actress had a pretty consistent style throughout the years, and one of the main reasons why she could maintain her fashionable image was her stunning fashion assistant, Elizabeth Stewart. The actress had appreciated the designer saying, “Elizabeth is the dream girlfriend who builds a closet around the trip. ‘This is what you could wear to lunch and then when you work. At evening, you can wear this, and you can change into these shoes.'”

Talking more about fashion, the actress sat down for an interview with W Magazine. She shared that she loved everything when it came to dressing legs and said, "I love the stockings with the dots that I wear in the commercial—they are my personal favorite. I also wear The Calzedonia classic fishnet stocking quite a bit, and I have lots of their style of leggings. I almost always wear leggings when I travel. They are comfortable and easy to dress up."
