Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian are engaged!
Keeping Up The Kardashians star and Poosh’s founder Kourtney Kardashian and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has only been in the public eye for a few months but with their public affection, matching outfits, date nights, double dates with Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox and their undying love and support for each other have already made them one of the favorite celebrity couples. The couple initially sparked dating rumors in February 2019 when they were spotted grabbing dinner in Malibu.
Travis and Kourtney celebrated Valentine’s Day together, making their relationship official by sharing a picture on social media while holding hands in a car. The couple made their red carpet debut at the 2021 Video Music Awards alongside Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox.
And now, in an Instagram post on 17th October 2021, Kourtney confirmed that the couple is engaged, and the drummer popped the question at the Rosewood Miramar hotel in Montecito, California. She wrote on her post, "forever @travisbarker". She included photos of the couple embracing during the magical moment where people can see an elaborate floral arrangement and candles on the beach.
Sister and beauty mogul Kim Kardashian posted footage of the couple kissing and added, "KRAVIS FOREVER". She added a ring emoji to her post. According to the reports, Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson were present where the proposal took place just as the sun was setting.
"Kourtney looked very surprised to see Khloe and Tristan there. Travis escorted Kourtney down to the beach, where he had red and white florals set up in the shape of a heart. It looked very romantic. I could see Kourtney smiling from ear to ear and putting her hand over her mouth, looking surprised. The family cheered for them and went back into the hotel", said the insider."
An insider also confirmed that Kim, Kris Jenner, and Corey Gamble also witnessed the proposal and that "they surprised the couple after the proposal inside the hotel". The group then celebrated in a private area in the hotel's restaurant. In May, a source told Entertainment Tonight that the couple had previously talked about a possible marriage, but Kourtney was pretty reluctant back then.
The source had mentioned that "Travis would absolutely love to tie the knot with Kourtney, but Kourtney hasn't been sure that's the step she wants to take in their relationship right now. She is extraordinarily happy and doesn't feel the need or want the pressure of getting married. There are a lot of other factors that concern her if they were to take their relationship to that next level, one of them being Scott [Disick] and more importantly, her kids and what that adjustment would mean for them."
Kourtney is undeniably in love with Travis and sees herself loving this moment and just taking her time to enjoy and have fun, the source explained.
During his appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Travis Barker gushed about his girlfriend, saying, "I’m spending time with a woman who’s a great mom, who’s a great friend, and you don’t have to worry about any of those things. It just comes natural, it’s like a maturity thing". The couple has been traveling all over the world, though the drummer had some hesitancy about boarding a plane, especially after being involved in the crash in 2008, Kourtney’s love and support helped him to fly again.
Travis told Nylon, "I made a deal with her that she had just said to me, ‘I would love to do so much travelling with you. I want to go to Italy with you. I want to go to Cabo with you. I want to go to Paris with you. I want to go to Bora Bora with you’. Well, when the day comes you want to fly, I’m telling you I’ll do it with you. I would do anything with you. And just give me 24 hours’ notice.’ And that’s what she did."
During a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Kim Kardashian revealed that the drummer is ‘such a big part’ of Kourtney’s life. She added, "I love their relationship. They've grown so much together. ... Just to think that they've been neighbors and friends for almost 15 years. Neighbors for, like, a decade!" Host Ellen DeGeneres joked about how the couple (Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian) since going public with their relationship haven't been able to "keep their hands off each other". "They are at each other like it's the last time they're going to see each other, all the time!" she said.
Travis shared during his conversation with Nylon that the Poosh founder has been such a positive influence on him that he has given him the strength and hope to be able to overcome things that were traumatic in his life. "She's definitely that for me. I'm invincible when I'm with her. It's like I never dreamed, I never even considered flying again", Travis said.
Kourtney Kardashian has three children Mason, Penelope, and Reign with ex-boyfriend Scott Disick and Travis Barker has been married before to Shanna Moakler (2004-2008) with whom he shares two kids Alabama and Landon and Melissa Kennedy (2001-2002). The couple has been involved in each other’s children’s life as well making their presence felt.
