Actor Jim Carrey hints his probable retirement from acting.

After Bruce Willis announced that he would be retiring from acting due to medical issues, actor Jim Carrey also hinted during an interview with Access Hollywood that he is ready to retire from acting after being part of the industry for almost forty years.

Jim Carrey is all set to appear in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and shared it with Kit Hoover during the interview after she mentioned that legendary singer Dolly Parton wants him to play her music partner, Porter Wagoner, to which Jim Carrey replied that he is certainly intrigued by the idea of it, but he has not heard any such thing and swiftly slid in the comment about his probable retirement. Kit Hoover could not understand if Jim Carrey was joking about the retirement or not, but he said that he was being fairly serious about it.

Jim Carrey explained that after Sonic the Hedgehog 2, he would like some time off to focus on other things like his spiritual life, but added that when it comes to acting, he’d wait for some angels to bring in a script that is written with gold ink and says to him that being a part of that movie is very essential for him and the audience to witness. Then he might consider that until then, he’d like some time off.

The 60-year-old actor explained to Kit Hoover that he likes his spiritual journey, painting on a canvas, and just being by himself. Jim Carrey said that the audience and media would never hear a celebrity say that they have done enough, they have enough, or they have enough. Talking about Dolly Parton’s project, Jim Carrey said that he was going to talk to her about it, adding that he loves her and it’s a shame that they were born in different eras.

Jim Carrey is going to appear in a Netflix special scheduled to premiere in June along with Jeff Ross, Chris Rock, John Mayer, and John Stamos to honor the late Bob Saget. Carrey said that Bob was just an absolute gem of a human being and his sense of humor was off-the-charts-sick. Jim recalled that Bob Saget was one of the first people he connected with when he moved to Los Angeles.

Jim Carrey recently was brought under the spotlight after he stated his opinion on the Will Smith-Chris Rock's Oscars 2022 altercation and said that the people in Hollywood are spineless after the audience gave a standing ovation to Will Smith as he accepted the award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Richard Williams in King Richard. Jim said that he was sickened by the applause that Will got minutes after he slapped Chris Rock for a joke and that he should have been escorted out of the ceremony.

Jim Carrey also mentioned that if he was in the place of Chris Rock, he would have sued Will Smith for over $200m but later in conversation with Kit Hoover shared that he sees this issue as an issue of the boundaries being broken and allowances to certain type of behaviour. He added that people like him and Will Smith live under a constant pressure and when something like this happens, it shows that maybe we are cracking under pressure. Jim Carrey also mentioned that Jada is a tough girl and she can defend herself.

The fans were quick to remind Jim Carrey of his past mistake that he made at the 1997 MTV Movie Awards when he sexually assaulted’ then-19-year-old Alicia Silverstone and Will Smith as he tried to kiss him too after he was announced as the winner of the award for MTV Movie and TV Award for Best Kiss. The videos from the 1997 MTV Movie Awards are doing the rounds on Twitter, and fans have been calling Jim Carrey a "hypocrite" for condemning Will Smith’s actions.

Some of the fans wrote that if Jim Carrey is going to condemn Will Smith's action then probably he should be in jail right now for sexually assaulting teenage Alicia Silverstone at the MTV Awards in 1997 and during the same ceremony he also tried to sexually assault Will Smith. Another user added that it's amazing that there was no action taken when Jim Carrey had assaulted Alicia Silverstone and later Will Smith too. The user added that she was 19 back then and he was 35 and nothing happened to him or his career.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences after careful consideration mentioned that they are holding an emergency board meeting to discuss disciplinary action against Will Smith for slapping Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards after the latter made a joke about the former's wife.

Whoopi Goldberg who is also a member of the Academy mentioned that she does not think that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is going to take away Will Smith's Oscar but there will be consequences for his actions for sure. She added that nobody was OKAY with what happened on that stage that night and hence there will be consequences.

Will Smith has apologized to Chris Rock via statement that was posted on his social media.
