An adaptation of "It Ends With Us" will star Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.
Wayfarer Studios and Sony Pictures have cast actress Blake Lively and actor Justin Baldoni in a movie adaptation of author Colleen Hoover's bestselling book "It Ends With Us," which is currently being developed.
According to reports, Christy Hall will not only adapt the script for the movie but also serve as the producer, with Justin Baldoni not only starring in it but also directing the movie. Jamey Heath and Alex Saks will serve as producers for Wayfarer Studios and Saks Picture Company respectively. Blake Lively and author Colleen Hoover will serve as executive producers on behalf of Wayfarer, along with Justin Baldoni, Steve Sarowitz, and Andrew Calof.
"It Ends With Us," tells the story of Lily Bloom, a young woman who has recently moved and is gearing up to begin her life after college. Lily, who's eager to open her flower shop, meets Ryle Kincaid, a surgeon, and becomes fascinated with him after trying to resist for a while. When Atlas Corrigan, her first love, comes back into her life, Lily and Ryle's relationship begins to change as Atlas' presence complicates things for them. The novel is partially based on Colleen Hoover's childhood and focuses on domestic abuse themes.
Colleen Hoover posted a video on Instagram this week of herself outside the home where her mother had taken her and her brother and sister after having left the children's abusive father. She told her followers that she just wants everyone to understand how thankful she is to her mother, who saved them from a dangerous position when they were a child and brought them into this house, which may not look like a lot but is full of love and joy. Colleen also expressed gratitude to her mom for making the tough choice adding that the house is full of wonderful memories for her.
The author went on to say that the fact that they are now highlighting a film based on a book inspired in part by her mother is bittersweet. That has occurred to a large number of people. But recognizing that her mother's choice has helped so many people out of that situation. She said that she loves her mother and after expressing gratitude, she revealed, they have finalized actress Blake Lively for the part of Lily Bloom. Colleen seemed overwhelmed and excited while announcing the news stating that Blake Lively is her fantasy, Lily.
Talking about Justin Baldoni who has been roped in to play Ryle, Colleen Hoover said that when she first met Justin Baldoni, who is also directing the film It Ends with Us, she immediately wanted him to be Ryle. She further said that she simply thought he had what it took to play that role and the good news is that he'll be Ryle. Colleen concluded that so now they have their Ryle and Lily and added that she is assured that they have what it takes to bring these characters to life.
The novel was optioned in 2019 by Justin Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios, who have been working with Colleen Hoover, who is consulting on the film. Justin Baldoni also reposted the video, looking eager to get started on the project.
Talking Blake Lively who with her husband Ryan Reynolds is expecting their fourth child is booked and occupied, with the sequel to her campy 2018 film A Simple Favor on the way. Anna Kendrick, who plays Stephanie to Blake Lively's Emily in the film, recently discussed new details about the sequel with E! News. She said that they have looked over the script now, and it's fantastic adding that she is getting smarter and more mature, but there are a few things that an individual can't just change about themselves. Blake will soon make her Searchlight feature directorial debut with adaptation of the Bryan Lee O'Malley graphic novel written and produced by Edgar Wright and Marc Platt, titled, Seconds.
"It Ends With Us" quickly became a "BookTok" sensation, selling more than 20 million copies. In the United States, Colleen Hoover is regarded as the best-selling author, with three of her books topping the New York Times paperback fiction bestseller list. The sequel of the book, 'It Starts With Us' was published recently and went ahead to be yet another topping book.
There is no word on who will play Atlas Corrigan but the fans are very excited to see the book coming to life.
