Britney Spears had starred in an abundance of invasive, misogynistic, and problematic interviews through the years. Needless to say, not only many of these were excessively sexist, but also derogatory to an extreme limit as they restricted the incredible singer to just an object for the male gaze. All of these impacted Britney's mental health to an immense degree, and while Britney tried defending herself, the perpetrators of the emotional violence just labeled her 'crazy' and got her stuck in a 13-year long conservatorship.

One of the most insulting of such interviews was when the star talked with Diane Sawyer. The extremely deplorable journalist twisted Britney's words and her love for shopping into a shopaholic disorder, along with putting words in her mouth about her Justin Timberlake split.

Britney Spears visited the pages of the past as she looked back to the stars who have sent her great gifts around the time and then, of course, shared about her love for shopping. The memory seemed to have triggered her interview with the journalist, and the singer could resist but take a jab at the 2003 interview.

Apparently, the crooner maintains a notes app where she mentions all the celebrities who have been kind to her. Britney wrote, "I need to thank Betsey Johnson's beautiful soul for sending me the most adorable clothes... JLo for sending me the sexiest heels... Donatella for the bright dresses and most amazing robe with my freaking name on it... it's my favorite."

She pivoted to her retail therapy happiness and added, "I do love shopping. though... who doesn't?" This, of course, reminded people of the 2003 interview where Sawyer had simply asked Britney if she loved shopping or if it was an addiction. "Is it an addiction?" said the journalist, and Britney had answered, "No, I don't think it's an addiction. It makes me happy. No, it's not an addiction!" surprised by the very problematic question.

Looking back on that one eventful interview, Britney said this year, "Do we dare forget the Diane Sawyer interview in my apartment almost 20 years ago???" She asked, "What was with the 'you're in the wrong' approach? Geeze... and making me cry??? Seriously though." The star also mentioned her conservatorship, saying, "She asked me if I had a shopping problem!!! When did I have a problem with shopping??? When I never left my apartment???"

Additionally, Britney never wanted to say anything after her split with Justin Timberlake, but she was forced to go on another interview with Sawyer following her breakup.

"Something I never shared when I had that big breakup years ago was that I couldn't talk afterwards," said Britney about her breakup and the drama that ensued. "I never spoke to anyone for a long time... I was in shock." However, her father, Jamie Spears, made her give the interview. "Two days later, they put Diane Sawyer in my living room... they forced me to talk!!! I was a baby... I was almost 22 and didn't understand."

"Framing Britney Spears" is a documentary series based on the pop icon's life and the various atrocities that the celebrity had to love through to reach the final moment of #FreeBritney. The documentary features quite a lot of disgusting interviews that the star had to sit through and was made to endure by her conservators.

Diane Sawyer is, of course, one of the many interviewers who pointed out that Spears wears only little clothes and famously pointed to the crooner's "world-famous bottom." Not only did the misogynistic journalist accuse Britney of upsetting "a lot of mothers in this country," but also stood up for Kendel Ehrlich, the then-governor of Maryland's wife. The wife had said she would shoot Spears for the terrible example she was setting for young women given the chance.

While Britney was totally shocked and hurt after her split, the heartless interviewer drilled Britney saying, "He pretty much said you broke his heart. You did something that caused him so much pain, so much suffering. What did you do?" Sawyer herself later agreed that Britney broke down amidst the conversation, and given the heartless probing into her personal life, the singer was totally justified in her reaction.

In another interview, Ivo Niehe pointed out Britney Spears' breasts while she was practically only a child at 17 years old.  "There's one subject we didn't discuss. What was that? Everyone was talking about it," he said and added, "Your breasts." "You seem to get furious when a talk-show host comes up with this subject. In general, what do you think about breast implants?" he said in the disgusting talk show.

The interviewer explained after the interview, "The atmosphere after the interview was good, and her management was more than happy." Notably, the singer was only shocked and furious, but her conservators were not.

Another very derogatory topic that interviewers usually brought up when talking with Spears was her sex life and virginity. At one time, the singer had shared her regret on talking about wanting to stay celibate until marriage and added that it was  "part of growing up" and that everyone  had "to deal with." The reporter spared no moment in asking, "Have there been any changes on that front?" And Spears only said, "That's a personal question."

Not to mention, Spears also had to put up with Lauer's interview where he accused Spears of being a bad mother. The interview entirely forgoes the part that Spears was actually running and hiding from the paps that were continuously hounding her in the situations where she was perceived to be a bad mother.

The interviewer also continuously built on the tabloid headline that the singer had a 'lousy marriage,' while Britney was several months along in her pregnancy with no consideration to the impact those blatant lies would have on the expecting mother. It is great to see the singer having regained control of her life and fighting off those who hindered it in the first place.
