Gabby Windey reveals why she and Erich Schwer broke up.

The Bachelorette couple Gabby Windey and Erich Schwer recently decided to separate after being engaged for less than two months. Gabby Windey, who is currently competing on Dancing With the Stars, addressed the reasons why they decided to go through the breakup.

During rehearsals with her partner Val Chmerkovskiy, Gabby Windey stated that she had just gone through a split, adding that the end of their relationship occurred because they had been not in sync with each other on their shared goals or just the way they handle situations. Gabby added that they were not the best matches for each other.

She went on to say that she is thankful that her father and stepmother embody so many underlying principles and value systems that she looks for in a relationship, such as never blaming anyone, and that she simply wants to funnel that kind of eternal life love in the dance.

Gabby Windey and Erich Schwer, who got engaged during the season 19 finale of The Bachelorette that aired in September, recently called it quits a few days after Gabby Windey stated that they were focusing on their individual goals as of now and were cheering each other on from a distance. She added at the time that life is just too busy for them and that they are just doing their best.

The host of the show, Jesse Palmer, shared with US Weekly that the two of them are trying to work things out. He shared that they are two amazing people, and everybody saw the potential in that relationship and just wished them the best for whatever it is they decide.

Rachel Recchia did appear on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast following the news of Gabby and Erich's split and disclosed why she was truly grateful that Gabby Windey was busy with her dance competition as it serves as a perfect distraction during the difficult time.

Rachel Recchia said that Gabby Windey is so busy right now, and in a way, she is very grateful for her because it has been really helpful for her to focus on something else rather than thinking about the separation. Rachel appreciated Gabby’s dedication and said that she practices all day every single day, which is great. The co-lead of the show mentioned that she would support Gabby Windey in whatever way she could because she understands how difficult the situation is, especially when it comes to the public eye.

Gabby Windey told US Weekly that it was difficult, and she appreciated everyone for recognizing it. She added that she is eventually extremely thankful that she was able to do it on her terms and when she was prepared and that it was an overall unique adventure, like being so public and being thrown into this.

After securing her spot in next week’s finale, Gabby Windey told US and other reporters that dance has been therapeutic amid her breakup. She explained that Val Chmerkovskiy speaks to this a lot like dance is a form of therapy just because one gets to let emotions move through their body. The TV personality said that she initially thought that dance is a creative expression and then second, it’s a sport. She mentioned that it requires a lot of muscle, which she dislikes, but she believes there is a lot of therapeutic resolve in it. She went on to say that she doesn't think "diversion" is the appropriate term to describe how the show helped her deal with her public divorce. Gabby stated that she believes that one must process it regardless, and she will, but she is grateful for a friendship with Val and a way to express herself through dance, not as a diversionary tactic, but as a way to help her process.

Despite their romantic declarations of love, Gabby Windey and Erich Schwer's relationship had its ups and downs. Throughout his time on the show, Erich Schwer, in particular, was embroiled in several controversies. The New Jersey native addressed a photo of himself in blackface in his high school yearbook in early September. He apologized, but he was quickly chastised again—this time when his ex-girlfriend Amanda Kaylor disclosed in leaked messages that he left her to star in the show. The ABC alum discussed Amanda's claims and why he did what he did in the series finale.

He said that he was using the show as an excuse to not confront her about their relationship at this point, where he didn’t see a future but they were having fun admitting that he took the cowardly way out. After the Final Rose episode, Erich clarified that his relationship with Gabby Windey is 100 percent real. For her part, the reality star accepted his clarification, stating that he was pondering about her and that they've been having these discussions over and over again, asserting that their interaction has just gotten much better, and he's generous and truthful, so she believes what he said. Gabby stated that Erich's sincerity and willingness to take responsibility are all she needs in a partner.

Erich Schwer has not yet commented on their split.
