Clayton Echard and Susie Evans have found their way back to each other!
Clayton Echard and Susie Evans recently spoke to People Magazine, where the couple shared that even though Susie Evans turned The Bachelor down on-camera, they decided to explore their relationship off-camera and the couple is happier than ever.
Susie Evans added that the two of them needed to take a step back and restart to build a foundation for their relationship, and the duo is glad that they took a step back. She mentioned that whatever happened in Iceland with Clayton Echard and the Fantasy Suite room debacle, she needed time to think about who Clayton Echard was as a person.
Whereas Clayton Echard added that he never took a step back as he was sure of what he wanted and the night he escorted her to the car, he confessed to her that he was in love with her and shared that he was still in love with her and when he saw a chance to rekindle their romance, he was all in.
Susie admitted that the way things ended up for them on The Bachelor made her think and question Clayton on his behavior towards someone he says that he is in love with, so she needed answers, and to their luck Susie got a chance to talk things through with him before leaving the island. She shared that both of them have known so much about each other now and clarified a lot of things, so the feeling of love that was still there just came back to them.
After a lot of talking and thinking, Clayton Echard is moving to Susie Evans’ native Virginia because the former footballer believes that they need to live alongside each other and take things at their pace. The couple is not looking to take the next step in their relationship as of now and is going to explore what they have currently. They explained that they don’t have a timeline set but are going to enjoy the time they have to get to know each other and just have fun.
Clayton Echard explains that they are a team and refers to their ship name as "Claysie". Clayton Echard explained to the publication that the two of them have worked hard to be together and have had tough conversations to make it work, and now they are a team. Clayton goes ahead and tells the publication that when he told Susie that he was in love with her, he was not looking for an answer back immediately, but he knew that he had never fallen out of love. The Bachelor added that she wanted to tell him in person, but she said it on the phone.
What exactly happened between the two?
The couple who abruptly ended their relationship during the first half of The Bachelor's finale decided to give their love another chance, and they appear happier than ever. Clayton Echard, who was technically supposed to choose his love between two finalists, Rachel and Gabby, needed another chance to talk to Susie, and he did.
Susie on the finale episode shared that she cannot believe that she got another chance and spoke to Clayton apologizing for everything that happened along with making sure to tell him that she felt like a stray dog, Clayton Echard went ahead to explain to her that his reaction came out from a place of confusion and felt like he didn’t know the person he was talking to.

Clayton Echard shared with Susie that when she walked out, he lost everything, to which Susie replied that she was not in the right frame of mind to make a decision then and there. Off-camera, Clayton confessed his feelings for her and added that what he has with her is something beyond compare, and he can’t have the same with Gabby or Rachel. He confessed to the cameras that he knows that he screwed up, but he wants Susie back more than anything, and she is the one for him.
The couple met once again in the countryside, and he said to her that he was ready to commit to her and would never stop loving or fighting for her. But Susie mentioned to him that she thinks that their relationship is over and she thinks that he’s not the person for her and vice versa. Clayton Echard was devastated, but he was sure of his decision, and the desire brought the two of them together, and they reconnected after leaving Iceland and realized that the spark was still there. But Clayton Echard left Iceland as a single man.
Susie Evans reached out to Clayton Echard after he left Iceland and the two got to talking off-camera and maybe they reached a point where they just knew that they have to try a little harder to make the love between them blossom. She explained that she just wanted to know how is he doing and clarified that her stance on him getting intimate with Gabby and Rachel is something that she thought about and she now understands his position and she was never mad at him. The two spent almost five hours over the phone and talked it through!
Susie Evans appeared with Clayton Echard on the After the Final Rose special and addressed him as her boyfriend and explained that because they took some time apart from each other, they were able to connect better and reestablish their relationship. They were happy that they spoke, and things couldn’t get better for the two of them.
