Should Riverdale end already?

Cole Sprouse revealed in a recent GQ interview that he attempted to enroll in graduate school before his agent persuaded him to audition for the role of Jughead Jones on The CW's Riverdale.

Cole said to the interviewer that the arts are like a whirlpool; if they need you, they will suck you in. The actor who debuted with The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and later decided to bid adieu to Hollywood and focus on studies and other important things, finally said "yes" to Jughead Jones and is still working on the series after six seasons.

The 29-year-old actor mentioned that after six seasons and complicated storylines and hijinks, most of the actors are ready to say goodbye to their beloved characters and move ahead in their lives with better opportunities and roles. Cole clarified that he is extremely grateful for the show, but he is ready to grow again and work on different projects with different types of characters.

The actor explained that he is not the creative force behind the show, so he does not have any control over what goes on and what does not. Cole explains that everyone on set is like a family but extremely professional as they all show up, receive their scripts, learn the lines, and film. Cole shared that he was once offered to direct an episode, but he politely declined the offer, knowing that his vision would be sucked into the network’s needs and he did not want that.

The Archie Comics-inspired series that grew into a cultural phenomenon has been renewed for a seventh season. But Cole Sprouse is not the first person who has mentioned that the show should wrap up after season seven because Lili Reinhart also mentioned a few months ago that they were hoping for a seventh season along with hoping that this would be their last one.

Actress Camila Mendes, who plays Veronica Lodge on the show, also expressed that they are okay with the seventh season but it could be the last before adding, "We’ll see." KJ Apa, who plays Archie Andrews, has also expressed that the co-actors are a family and they have a blast on set and like working with each other, but they would like to be involved in other projects too and film other things, including movies.

KJ added the entire cast is somewhat stuck in Vancouver for the show but everyone is looking for something else to work on. KJ also added that some of them have had the opportunity to work on other things while filming for the show and that is great but he does not want to be pegged as Archie for the rest of his life.

The show runner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa had mentioned that for him the show ends when Archie has a child. Now, will season seven will be the last season for Riverdale or not, we'll have to wait and see. But talking about working on other projects, Cole Sprouse's new movie, 'Moonshot' is out on HBO MAX and it stars Lana Condor

During his conversation with Extra TV, Cole mentioned that he is excited to turn 30 and have his freedom. Cole Sprouse and Lana Condor were promoting their latest movie and said that they had a blast working together and that this only happens when you are surrounded by a cast that works well together. Cole Sprouse added that most of their days were spent laughing at whatever improv was coming their way. He added that the cast and crew while filming laughed enough that could extend their lives by like three to four years max.
