The Harry Potter franchise is turning 20 this year, and fans can not be more excited!

Daniel Radcliffe looked back at the old Harry Potter days, and while the actor is of the view that there are "no plans at the moment" for a Harry Potter reunion, news has started pouring in that the most beloved cast of the movie series could come back on your screens.

The actor was working at promoting Season 3 of Miracle Workers earlier this year and had said, "I'm in the Dominican Republic at the moment filming, and then I'm going to be busy, kind of working on bits and pieces until the end of the year." He continued, "So yeah, I don't know. I'm sure there will be some sort of celebration, but I don't know if we will be getting together or anything. I'm sorry if that's a bit of a disappointment to anyone."

One of the most-watched film franchises around the globe, Harry Potter films ran for a decade from 2001 to 2011. He shared that he does not get much time to rewatch the films since the movies were first released, but he does watch bits and parts of the films every now and then. "I've seen bits on TV for seconds before I go, 'Uh!' Or if it's a scene that someone else is in I'll go, 'Oh, cool,'" he revealed. "But yeah, I have really, really fond memories of all my scenes with Gary Oldman and David Thewlis. They were some of the first scenes on the third and the fifth film where I started to feel like I was a young man who was just starting to figure out what acting was, and they were pretty cool people to be around," Radcliffe said.

Talking about his favorite scenes from shooting the movies, Radcliffe shared that it was when he was filming for Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire. Apart from Radcliffe himself, the film is a cult favorite. Talking about shooting the moments where he competed in the Triwizard Tournament, he said, "They let me do the craziest stunt I was ever able to do. It was like a 40 foot fall down on a roof. I was on a wire, but I was properly in free fall. It was only there to catch me at the end. And I was absolutely terrified." The actor shared, "I worked a lot with the stunt department by then, and they were like, 'You can do this. Do you want to try it?' And I said yes. But then I got up there and was absolutely terrified."

However, he also shared that he probably will not be able to perform something so daring ever again. He said, "That was one of the things, and we did it like two or three times, but it was for the fourth film. I've realized since that that was very special circumstances in that set, and I will never be allowed to do something like that again."

Over the 20 years of the film franchise's run, people still continue to watch the film with a lot of zeal and zest. Talking about the craze of fans to reenact the scenes from Harry Potter, especially the chess scene with the giant chess pieces, Radcliffe said, "That's a really hard one to reenact. That's like one of the craziest sets we had! That's great. I will try and see some of them then. That's good."

While the films are everything any Harry Potter books lover would have wanted, there are still so many parts of the books that did not make it to films in the end. One of these was Peeves, the poltergeist. David Heyman, the producer of the Harry Potter films shared, "We always left things out that were painful. We shot Peeves in the first film, and I loved his anarchy, but it didn’t fit. I love the Quidditch from the fifth book – Ron is so funny and it was good character development, but there just wasn’t a place for it. S.P.E.W. – the Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare – was a wonderful part of the books. Hermione’s mission to protect these outsiders."

Another part of the books that could not make it to screens was the Quidditch World Cup from the Goblet of Fire, Heyman revealed that the gigantic scale of the match was the reason for it, sharing, "Not being able to film the Quidditch World Cup in Goblet of Fire – that was more because it was so spectacular. The backstory of the Marauders, of James and Sirius and Peter Pettigrew – that was such wonderful color and informed Harry’s relationship with Sirius in a really interesting way. Those are things I missed."

He also shared, "But I do feel like we made the right choices for the films we were making. Kreacher was almost cut from the fifth film, and Jo said, “I wouldn’t do that if I were you because he does have a role to play later on.” So Kreacher remained, and thankfully he did because he was a significant house-elf."

Sharing how special the project was to him, he said, "I realised I had something special when I first read the book. I loved it. It moved me. I fell in love with it before it was published. I’ll never forget being on set that first day, filming the last scene of Philosopher’s Stone where Hagrid and Harry bid farewell at the railway station at Hogsmeade."

Further, he went on to explain Radcliffe's allergy from the green contacts he wore for the shoot, telling, "Dan was wearing these contact lenses to make his eyes green, and he had an allergic reaction to them. His eyes were red and swollen, and we had to take them out – we thought we may add that green digitally, though ultimately we decided not to because it felt artificial. But Dan’s eyes were puffy and red, and oddly it was quite appropriate for the scene where he was saying goodbye to Hagrid."
