The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s representatives clarify their decision to step down.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's Global Press Secretary addressed criticism of their recently released Netflix documentary series in a statement to Entertainment Tonight. The show, 'Harry and Meghan' on Netflix is centered on the couple's decision to resign as senior royal working members, their treatment in the royal family, and their love story.

According to the statement, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have never quoted privacy as a reason for their pullout, and this warped and twisted narrative was designed to keep the couple silent. According to the Global Press Secretary, their assertion publicizing their decision to step back makes mentions nothing about privacy and reiterates their desire to keep their roles and public duties. Any other suggestion brings up a key point in this series.

In January 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle issued a statement publicizing their decision to step down from royal duties, with no mention of privacy. Instead, the couple stated that they hoped to begin carving out a gradual new role within this institution in the coming year.

In their 2020 statement, Harry and Meghan stated that they planned to work toward financial independence and split their time between the United Kingdom and North America, all while continuing to support the Queen. They added that the geographic balance will allow them to start raising their son with an admiration for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also allowing their relatives to focus on the next chapter, which contains the launch of their new charitable organization.

The late Queen Elizabeth II also declared at the time that she was bestowing her blessing on the royal couple. She and her family fully support Harry and Meghan's desire to start a new life as a young family, noting that while they would have personally preferred them to remain active working members of the Royal Family, they respect and comprehend their desire to live a more active lifestyle as a family while remaining a valued member of her family.

In February 2021, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Harry and Meghan would no longer be senior members of the royal household and that honorable military nominations and aristocratic patronages would've been redistributed among working royal family members. While everyone was disheartened by their decision, the palace got to add that the Duke and Duchess continue to remain much-adored members of the royal family.

According to Global Press Security, the couple has chosen to tell their story on their terms and in their way, and the tabloid media has created an entirely false narrative that has monopolized press coverage, while popular sentiment has decided to add that the facts are right in front of them.

Katie Nicholl, a royal expert, stated that she has spoken to senior palace aides from the royal family who have asserted that they are hesitant to remark unless it is damaging, untrue, or disparaging. They don't want to be lured into this docudrama for the simple reason that they do not wish to give an already highly anticipated docudrama much more oxygen or publicity. Katie got to add that if they can ride this out without getting drawn into it, that's probably the best strategy. She claimed that she was told by a senior palace aide to "keep calm and carry on," and not to get too distracted by this.

Fans have also weighed in on the show, with one saying, "Harry and Meghan: please respect our privacy." "Please pay us for interviews so we can grumble about not obtaining the privacy we requested," Harry and Megan said. However, in 2021, Prince Harry asserted that he does not regret resigning as the royal family's high-ranking working member or his decision to relocate to California, citing headlines and the firm's and the press's combined effort to smear Meghan.

When Prince Harry awoke in the middle of the night, she was crying on her pillow since she didn't want to wake him up. After all, he was already overburdened. In the new teaser posted on Netflix's YouTube of 'Harry and Meghan', the audience can witness the glimpses of the royal wedding and Duchess saying that she just really wanted the music at her wedding to be fun.

The promo clips revealed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's intimate pictures from the royal wedding and them dancing along to Wilson Pickett's 'Land of 1000 Dances'. The second installment of their show will focus on their wedding and their decision to step down as working royal members. The first installment of the document series is streaming on Netflix.
