Obi-Wan Kenobi stands very true to its name. Strongly taking after the life of Obi-Wan Kenobi himself, there is nothing that could have been a more appropriate title for the Star War series.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of the signature characters in the Star Wars series and, needless to say, is a fan favorite. While a staple face of the show, the character was first portrayed by Alec Guinness in the original franchise of the Studio and is now handed over to the new face, Ewan McGregor.

While Star Wars have come a long way and explored a lot of story, background arcs, and plots in its entirety of screen time, there is so much more to share when it comes to Obi-Wan. Hence, the character is now back again.

But he is not the only one who will be making a reappearance in a Star Wars series. In fact, the audience should be prepared to meet up with friends-to-enemies nemesis, Darth Vader.

Darth Vader has been a permanent presence in the Star Wars universe and while he has been defeated before, it was only a matter of time before he would come back. The Lucasfilm Studio readily agreed to bring forward this series and continued the discussions for a while.

President Kathleen Kennedy of Lucasfilm shared with Entertainment Weekly that they weighed bringing back the director for quite some time before they decided to make their minds. Both the creative team and the fans showed mixed reactions when it came to the reprisal of Darth Vader.

Yet, the Studios knew that no matter the decision, they would face the public and critical reviews anyway. The scrutiny was permanent and a regular topic while the creative team held discussions.

Finally, Deborah Chow added her own input to the matter and what kind of Dart Vader would she like to direct in Obi-Wan Kenobi. It was very important to present the right portrayal of Anakin Skywalker and Hayden Christensen did a great job at ensuring that the depiction was precise.

Explaining how the studio finally reached the decision to bring Darth Vader back, Chow explained that the series needed a "character-based and character-driven" narration. Even being a limited series, it was sufficient enough to dive deep into the take of these legendary characters.

Taking Obi-Wan Kenobi and his life, it is obvious to understand that his character was greatly influenced by the presence of Dart Vader. He is almost an intangible part of his life, especially after the coming of Revenge of the Sith, it was important to expand on their experiences.

Their shared experiences formed the character and what he came to be in his life and there was no coming back out of it. Hence, it was important to add Vader's timeline to the story.

Hayden Christensen did a great job at portraying Vader and everything the character embodies. Chow called him a "lovely" actor and that his acting was "wonderful." Needless to mention, coming from Canada, the actor has imbued very fine manners.

The most important part of Hayden coming to play Darth Vader was that he already had the experience of playing the role previously in the series prequels. Hence, having known these characters for a long period of time, they are extremely well versed with the character and knew him inside out.

Similarly, Ewan too had played Obi-Wan before this, and having known what his role commanded, it was easy to portray the character. In the end, it makes for a simple and easy ride for shooting and creating the series.

Seeing these characters once again come on screen after such a long time was definitely a great feeling for both the series creators and the audience. The first time Hayden came on the sets as Darth Vader, Chow said that it was a "very special feeling."

Not only are characters like Skywalker very iconic, legendary, and well known, but their popularity also dates back to generations, and seeing them living and breathing once again was yet another way for different generations to connect and come back to Star Wars.

Many people have previously grown up seeing Hayden portray the role of Vader and now another generation would once again connect him with the familiar role. It could become a key point for the younger generations to connect with the older ones.

Apart from that, Chow again mentioned that with Hayden being Canadian and joining her on set, they had a Canadian pride on the day of the shoot.

But regardless of their shared nationality, Chow admitted that the reprisal of the iconic character on the sets of Obi-Wan Kenobi made her feel like the character is towering above her.

Even Ewan McGregor was susceptible to the celebrity aura of the actor and was confused to see why everyone on the sets was simply so excited one day. And then he saw that Vader had taken over his role.

There is also the fact that Vader's suit is ( dramatically ) double the height of regular human beings, and hence his coming back on sets was an "intense" experience for many to endure. Funnily enough, the lead actor himself felt eclipsed in front of Hayden's Vader.

Chow ended by saying that having seen Vader as a legendary figure in the Star Wars lore, having him on set again was a magnificent experience for everyone included.
