The awards shows of 2021 came back with a big bang, and the 2021 MTV EMAs did not disappoint either. A fully star-studded show with performances to be remembered forever, the show carried on into the long night, and various celebs left the venue one award richer.

Performances on the big night include a musical number by Ed Sheeran, Maluma, Yungblud, Kim Petras, and many more celebs. The award hosting duties were handed over to Saweetie. The celebratory night created history as awards for the MTV EMA Generation Change honor were handed over to five young LGTBQ+ activists. But there is more than just this.

Being the first time that an award title for “MTV EMA Generation Change Award” was presented during the main awards event, a group of LGTBQ+ people getting to take home the award represents a worthy change. This year as the awards were handed out for the titular honor, they were appreciated as “five young changemakers who are furthering equality and love while fighting against anti-LGBTQ+ policies.”

Singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran grabbed the honor of being named the Best Artist and also another award for the Best Song awarded to his musical child "Bad Habits." The award for the Best Rock act went to Maneskin. K-pop idols also got to make it big at the event, and the very popular boy band BTS took home four awards. They managed to swipe the titles of Best Pop, Best K-Pop, Best Group, and Biggest Fans.

Justin Bieber has started off big with eight MTV EMA nominations to his name that spanned over the categories of Best Artist, Best Pop, and two different nominations in the category of Best Song. Despite the significant number of nods, the "Peaches" singer failed to impress when it was his turn to win those nominations. Following Justin Beiber, Doja Cat, and Lil Nas X earned six nominations each, and Olivia Rodrigo, the "Sour" singer led with five nominations to her name.

The award show was held in Budapest, Hungary for the 2021's event. Here is the complete list of 2021 MTV EMA winners and nominees:-
