Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are now parents!
Singer Nick Jonas and wife and actress Priyanka Chopra took to their respective social media accounts to share the happy news with the world that they are now parents. They wrote, "We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much."
According to the reports by TMZ, the baby was born in a Southern California hospital and although they have not revealed the gender of their baby, reports suggest that they have welcomed a baby girl who arrived 12 weeks before the due date but the couple is extremely over-joyed with the newest member of their family.
As soon as the couple shared the news on social media, they received an endless amount of love and wishes from friends, family, and fans across the world. Nick Jonas’ elder brother Kevin Jonas was one of the first people to wish them by adding a few heart emojis to their post, and later Joe Jonas also added a heart to their announcement. Lilly Singh who is a close friend to both Nick and Priyanka wrote, "AYE!!! Can't wait to cuddle them!!" Kal Penn added to the announcement post, "Congratulations! Uncle Kalpen is ready to babysit!" Vanessa Bryant also commented ‘Congratulations’ on the post
Bollywood actors including Pooja Hedge wrote, “Congratulations. Sending you all loads of love and light!”, Shefali Shah commented on Priyanka’s post, "Congratulations pc lots of love n blessings to the lill one". Neha Dhupia Bedi also congratulated the new parents by writing, "Congratulations @priyankachopra @nickjonas … best news ever !!!"
Recently, during Priyanka’s Vanity Fair cover story, the actress shared that she is hopeful that she and Nick would share kids someday. She said, “They’re a big part of our desire for the future. By God’s grace, when it happens, it happens.” Priyanka Chopra who comes from a traditional Indian family explained that even though her schedule is usually ‘packed’ with work, family is very important to her and added, “It is something that I definitely want to do and I’m hoping that whenever God wills it, at the right, opportune time, it’ll happen.”
It is a known fact that both Priyanka and Nick had to deal with their relationship being scrutinized by the public and media and they both opened up about the same in the Vanity Fair cover story. Nick Jonas said, “We both know that public life is something that comes with what we do. But we’ve set real boundaries around our personal lives, our privacy, and worked really hard to create that little safe haven for ourselves with our friends and family.”
During her interview, Priyanka who has been busy with work lately shared that she is “at a precipice of reinvention” adding, “What is the new me? I’m very excited about the future,” she added. “I’m terrified of it too. Change is always scary. But I’ve done it multiple times in my life.” Priyanka who has quite a list of projects on her list explained that she is now trying to find a balance between her professional and personal life. She added, “My priority has always been the next job. I’m a very, very ambitious person. But I think the woman in me is craving balance. I’m craving my family life. I’m craving being able to do things for the soul that I didn’t do because I was just ‘blinders on’ and working.”
Explaining further that her journey which has been difficult surely left some marks and bruises the actress added, “I think maybe that’s why I’m becoming a lot more introverted as I go along on this journey in the entertainment business now. I’m starting to protect myself a lot more because I realize how much it takes out of you. It takes a part of your soul, constantly trying to make sure that you say the right thing, do the right thing, dress the right way, not make a mistake, not trip because the whole world is going to watch. Or not fall when you’re walking up on a red carpet or say something wrong or have a bad fucking day.”
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas met at the grand fashion event MET GALA 2017 where both of them represented designer Ralph Lauren. The singer popped the question in Crete, Greece and they tied the knot in December 2018 in Umaid Bhawan Palace, India.
