T.J. Holmes and Marilee Fiebig file for divorce.

The GMA3: What You Need To Know co-anchor, T.J. Holmes, who has been in the news for his "secret relationship" with co-anchor Amy Robach in November, has now taken a major step in his personal life regarding his decade-long marriage with attorney Marilee Fiebig.

T.J. Holmes and Marilee Fiebig have filed for divorce after 12 years of marriage, according to public court records. The former couple, who married in March 2010 and had their daughter Sabine in 2013, is already planning to divorce. T.J. Holmes and his ex-wife, Amy Ferson, have two children: Brianna and Jaiden.

T.J. Holmes filed the petition for divorce in New York City, and the report of the filing comes after it was earlier reported that the duo went their separate ways in August, and although they were trying to work on repairing their relationship, they both knew that it was over.

T.J. Holmes, who was a BET correspondent at the time, opened up about his strong marriage with Marilee Fiebig in 2012. T.J. Holmes simply recommended other married people to do the correct thing, treat one another well, and respect each other, saying that there are no mysteries to a happy union.

When Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes' relationship became public, it was revealed that Marilee Fiebig was astonished and heartbroken because she had no idea. The end of Holmes' nearly 13-year relationship comes just one day after the GMA3 co-anchors were discovered commuting together over the vacations after their mystery romance was made known.

More information about Holmes' alleged relationships with at least two other employees of the company, including married producer Natasha Singh, has surfaced as part of ABC's investigative process into the nature of T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach's relationship. In March 2020, T.J. Holmes wished his wife their 10th anniversary confessing that he had given her plenty of reasons to leave him across the whole of their marriage.

As word of their relationship expanded, T. J. Holmes and Amy Robach both deleted their Instagram accounts. The pair has not commented publicly on their relationship, though they did acknowledge it in an episode of GMA: What You Need to Know earlier in the month. Even though news of their relationship broke in late November, a TV insider told PEOPLE that the affair was pretty apparent among many GMA staffers, trying to add that they had been also telling a while back to stop their flirty teasing with one another.

The insider revealed that many individuals were dissatisfied with their flirtatious nature, and despite the fact they were conscious of their everlasting chemistry, the staff members were displeased with the media exposure their secret relationship' drew to the channel. However, the very first source made clear to people that a romance among close friends only recently flourished after they were separated from their spouses. T.J. was incredibly embarrassed when some other GMA cast member made a joke about just how close he was to Amy several years ago, as they'd both been through a lot and everyone knew that they were just good friends.

T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach were removed from the air on December 5 and will remain so until ABC completes its investigation into their relationship. According to a memo sent to staffers by ABC News chief Kim Godwin that read that after a lot of thought, she has decided to take the duo off-air until the internal review is completed. Kim mentioned in her memo to the staff that although their affair was not a violation of company policy the decision was made keeping the whole GMA brand in mind. Other anchors have been filling in for T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach.

According to reports, there's been absolutely no indication about who tipped off the Daily Mail regarding Amy and T.J.'s romance, but some believe it was executed by a person within ABC who wanted to squash the dynamic. Earlier this month, a former "GMA" executive told Fox News Digital that Holmes and Robach might not come back to the network at all. The broken marriages and cheating, which include reports that T.J. had yet another affair with a different 'GMA' colleague, is undignified and humiliating, as well as a serious breach of core Disney values, the former ABC News executive said.
