Judge Rachel Juarez, who gets to sit on the CBS show Hot Bench's first-ever three-judge panel, tells ET that the sentences were of what one would anticipate. She stated that these were serious offenses with comprehensive fraud and that neither Todd nor Julie expressed remorse. Rachel went on to say that the couple stood by their deeds and showed no remorse or acceptance of responsibility.

Juarez believes the Chrisleys' inability to express regret will come back to haunt them in the long term. According to her, the refusal to accept liability played a significant role in the sentence. She explained that not only did these individuals fail to admit responsibility, but they also tried to blame others and that there was significant evidence that they not only held responsible others but also had third-party candidates falsely testify on their behalf to assume responsibility for what the Chrisleys did, as the prosecutors pointed out. The judge went on to say that such actions don't help when it comes to sentencing.
