The cancel culture doesn't forgive, whether it be famous celebs or your mediocre TikTokers, and who could explain better about being canceled than the celebrity chef Chrissy Teigen. The model, and now chef, faced a lot of criticism due to resurfaced tweets in the past months, but the model now said that the criticism and backlash have "made her a stronger person."

Chrissy Teigen opened up about her self-improving journey with Hoda Kotb on the set of 'Today' this Tuesday. The model said that the online accusations made her aware of her several flaws and aided her on the path of reflecting and becoming a better person. She said it was looking at children that made her aware of the fact that she was lacking common decency. The model shared, "I look at my kids and what I want their values to be and how I want them to treat people, and to see that in myself that I wasn't doing that was, I think, the hardest part for me," she said.

This latest interview marks Chrissy's first public interview after people started backlashing the chef on the internet. She appeared on a TV interview for the first time on the Today with Hoda and Jenna episode. The Twitter accusations had followed with Chrissy learning to become sober and looking deeper into her past behavior. Now, the chef says that she is grateful for all that she has received, and going through the healing process of reflecting on herself has made her "a stronger person, a better person."

The chef told Hoda Kotb, "I'm actually a hundred days sober today, and I’m so excited." The celebrity chef also said, "I feel so good, I feel very clear-headed. I feel like I've done the work, and I just hope these people can forgive and be able to welcome the fact that hopefully, they've seen me be better."

She revealed that her drinking issue had continued for a long time, but she did not previously associate it with being a problem. But in these past few years, she had realized that the behavior was kind of problematic. "I've been struggling with it honestly, for the past couple of years when I knew it was kind of an issue."

The whole issue had started way back early this year when model Courtney Stodden had shared a dark side to the behavior of Chriss Teigen and had also accused her of cyberbullying when the model was a teenager. The accusations made by Stodden during an interview with The Daily soon went viral. Chrissy had apparently tweeted publicly, saying the model to take a 'dirt nap' and then proceeded to DM the model privately and said her to suicide.

Soon, several others added their own accusations to the Twitter thread, saying they had suffered from similar bullying experiences at the hands of Chrissy Teigen. Actor Quvenzhané Wallis shared that Chrissy had called her "cocky" when she was nine years old, and another shared that Lindsay Lohan "adds slits to her wrists when she sees Emma Stone." Back then, Lohan's mother had asked Chrissy "looking into oneself."

The "cancel club" founder then went on to issue an apology on Twitter for her "past horrible tweets" and also said that she was trying to talk to people she had "put down" with her harsh comments. Following these tweets, Teigen had gone to take a Twitter break. She had previously issued an apology for Stodden after the Daily Beast interview and also had said that her shame over those comments was "nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel."

While Chrissy claims to have reached out to Stodden and apologized, Stodden shared that neither she nor her team had heard from Teigen. Yet the actress responded with an open heart that she accepted Teigen's public apology and forgave her.

Explaining more about her past behavior, Chrissy shared the screenshot of a blog post on her Instagram. It reads: "You felt like you weren't talking to anybody. You just threw things out there, you didn't feel like anyone was going to read it. You just throw things out there, and you don't know, you really think about the impact and the person on the other side."

In the interview with Kotb, Chrissy once again said that she and her team are trying to contact the people she has hurt and offended as she had previously promised in July. Then she proceeded on to talk about working on herself and her drinking issues and proudly relayed that she is 100 days sober now. The model revealed that she had started drinking in her early 20s and since then could barely get on one or two days without drinking. She shared that it soon became a full-blown issue, and then she wouldn't be able to attend interviews or shows without having drank.

"Just even like doing interviews and things like I would think I needed a glass of wine, and then it just started to get embarrassing like at award shows and things and everyone memes it and thinks it’s funny and cute that you fell asleep or something." She also acknowledged that things were getting very embarrassing, especially when she would be her disoriented self around her husband, John Legend.

She went on to tell, "I just was like, I can't be the messy one. This is embarrassing, and I don't want to be waking up in the morning and being like, 'Oh, what did I say?' Like that's so embarrassing, and then it was just not worth it."

The model decided to work on herself as the whole issue with Courtney Stodden surfaced on social media. The Sports Illustrated model had made some pretty disturbing comments to Stodden in 2011, about which behavior she said that she has “no excuse” and acted like "a troll, full stop."

The chef went on to tell Hoda, "I think you learn so much in the moments where you do lose so much, you lose it all, your world is kind of turned upside down. For me, it was a big moment of, 'Wow, I need to find out how I can be better, how I can grow from this, learn from this.'" The model also said, "There's that old cliché like I'm glad it happened, but truly it made me a stronger person, a better person. Having this period of time to digest it all and to look back and to realize that honestly, there’s always so much time to grow and to learn and to become more empathetic.”

It is nice to see Chrissy grow, but there is still a long way to go.
