Raj Kundra Bribes the police with an amount of Rs 25 Lakh To Avoid Getting Arrested

He has been booked under sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292 and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) of the Indian codification (IPC) along with relevant sections of the IT Act and also the Indecent Representation of ladies (Prohibition) Act. Kundra remains in police custody till July 23 till further actions are taken.

After Raj Kundra's arrest, Hotshots mobile app is at the centre of the alleged porn film case. Raj Kundra was arrested concerning a suspected porn film racket. According to a magistrate court in Mumbai on Tuesday, Raj Kundra, a 45-year-old businessman and actor Shilpa Shetty’s husband, was sent to police custody till July 23 for ostensibly producing and circulating pornographic videos through social media.

The Mumbai police said that through investigation, it's relevant that Mr Kundra is involved in such video production, which further was uploaded on social media and earned them money. He was arrested by the Property Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch on July 19 concerning the pornography racket busted in February.

When the police raided a bungalow at Madh village in Malad on February 4, 2021, some young boys and girls were noticed filming and recording nude and vulgar videos and uploading them on various online platforms. Investigation showed that these videos were going to be uploaded on a website and mobile app.

Actor Umesh Kamat confessed that Mr Kundra is involved in transmitting such videos on apps and has also made WhatsApp groups connect with the app. Also, a witness told the police that Mr Kundra and Saurabh Kushwah established Arms Prime Media Private Limited on February 5, 2019. The said company sold the app to a company named Kenrin Limited for $25,000. On December 11, 2019, Mr Kundra left the company.

He has been charged with 354 C (voyeurism), 292 (sale, etc. of obscene books), 293 (sale, etc. of obscene objects to young person), 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the IPC along with relevant Sections of the Information Technology Act and the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act.
