Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams have tied the knot!
Finally, after three years of getting engaged, Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland and Bachelor in Paradise bartender Wells Adams tied the knot in the presence of family and friends on August 20th.
According to sources, the couple married in an outdoor ceremony at Sunstone Winery near Santa Barbara, California and the attendees for the wedding were Modern Family co-stars Nolan Gould, Ariel Winter, Sofia Vergara, Sofia’s son Manolo Vergara, Julie Bowen, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who was accompanied by his husband Justin Mikita. Bachelor in Paradise alum and friend, Kaitlyn Bristowe and her fiancé, Jason Tartick were also a part of the celebration.
Actress Sofia Vergara shared a couple of pictures of her outfit along with a picture that included Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who was accompanied by his husband Justin Mikita and captioned it as Wedding Weekend. Sofia also posted another photo with Nolan Gould and Julie Bowen, as well as the wedding cake, with the hashtag #sarahandwellswedding.
Sarah Hyland shared a picture of the newly married couple just with a date of their wedding. The actress donned a stunning off shoulder Vera Wang gown although picking a different creation for the reception from the renowned wedding designer. The actress donned a light ivory silk faille ballgown for the wedding that had a sweetheart neckline, a hand-pleated bodice, French tulle sleeves, and a high slit.
According to a Vera Wang press release, Sarah's cathedral-length Italian tulle veil included a hand-applied macramé lace border. Sarah Hyland accessorized her outfit with white heels with crystal trim, a diamond bracelet, and diamond drop earrings while wearing her black hair pulled back in delicate curls to frame her face. When it was time to party, the actress changed into a leaner, soft white Italian crepe dress with flowing sleeves, hand-applied macramé lace, and a neckline. Whereas Wells Adams donned a black Gucci suit for the special occasion.
Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams’ relationship dates back to 2016 when the actress first flirted with the Bachelor in Paradise bartender on Twitter, but they did not get together until the fall of 2017, days before Sarah Hyland underwent her second kidney transplant and the bartender and host of podcast show has been supportive of her challenges since the day he met her. The couple moved in together in 2018 and Wells Adams proposed to Sarah Hyland in the summer of 2019 on a dreamy and romantic tropical vacation.
The couple had put their wedding plans on hold because of the pandemic but ended up celebrating their original wedding date in August 2020 at the winery with friends. Wells Adams had previously shared that the couple has already hit several relationship milestones and is almost like a married couple. He also joked that they hope that the third time’s a charm for them and added that they kind of set up the big wedding, which was postponed, but they are committed to having a big wedding.
Wells Adam shared with People publication that the couple was looking forward to tying the knot in 2022, but if there was another setback that put a speed breaker in the wedding plans, they would go to Las Vegas or the courthouse.
Last month, actress Sarah Hyland told the publication that they are both very practical, that they have a house together, dogs, and that they have been celebrating the journey of life together for almost five years, and that there is nothing that would change that, but they are excited about the wedding. Sarah Hyland shared with Ellen DeGeneres on her show that she is fine with eloping to Vegas or the south of France with just the two of them celebrating the union, but mentioned that Wells is a romantic and he wants all the loved ones to be with them during such an emotional day.
Back in June, Vanessa Hudgens shared with Lauren Zima from Entertainment Tonight about her being emotional about Sarah Hyland’s bridal shower. She said that she has known Sarah for so long and they have all been waiting for the wedding for so long and then the pandemic happened and the couple couldn’t go ahead with their plan, but now that it’s happening, it’s all emotional. Sarah Hyland also posted a couple of pictures and videos from the ‘bridal shower of her dreams on her social media stories, which included a picture of her custom enamel box clutch that read "Mrs. Adams."
Sarah Hyland stated back in July that she might not follow the custom of adopting her husband's last name as she shared that her mother didn't take his father's last name, so that's never been a concern for her but admitted that when the couple goes on vacation, she appreciates being referred to as "Mrs. Adams" when the reservation is made under Wells' name. Sarah concluded that she has not a stern decision yet on whether she would change her name or not.
