Marvel Studios The Eternals, which has been able to touch the $300 million mark at the box worldwide which includes both the domestic collection and the international one the film garnered despite it receiving mixed-reaction from critics and fans with a special emphasises on the fact that the film hugely misses out on the aspect of providing sufficient screen time to all the superhero characters introduced in Marvel Cinematic Universe, out of these heroes one special character is Eros also known as Starfox, who is only able to make in the film in its post-credit scene, The Eternals writers Ryan and Kaz Firponow now comes out to share why Harry Styles' Starfox had such a minimal time in movie, keeping in mind that the character has so much potential to be explored and is a brother to none other than the Mad Titan Thanos himself, which could also open an unlimited number of opportunities for the franchise in future as it could possibly pave a way through which Thanos’ side of the story could be explored of which the fans only got to see glimpses of in 2019’s released Avengers Endgame.

“You know, when we first started doing our pitch, we basically just had all these cards of, let's say about 40 different Eternals, and we started kinda picking out the ones that we liked. And [Eros] is definitely a card that went up on the board to be in the main movie,” Ryan told The Direct during an interview, explaining that at first Eros was one of the characters that was initially pitched by them[Kaz and Ryan] as someone who could possibly play a major role in the film.

“But we eventually decided that we really wanted to concentrate on Sersi and Ikaris’ love story, and we just thought in the broader group dynamics, if there’s Ikaris, there can’t really be Eros too, because it feels like they’re just kinda stepping on each other’s toes,” Ryan added, elaborating that ultimately both them [Kaz and Ryan] decided to go with Richard Madden's Ikarkis and Gemma Chan's hero Sersi love story instead of Eros and Sersi because according to the duo “if there’s Ikaris, there can’t really be Eros too.”

He continues emphasizing that while Starfox couldn’t really into the Oscar-winning filmmaker Chloe Zhao’s directed superhero epic, it doesn’t mean that the character cannot be explored further in another MCU project or doesn’t exist fit into the puzzle of the larger MCU world. “But we knew he was a great character who could potentially be our portal into the bigger world; bigger community of Eternals that lives out in the Cosmos. So eventually, we realized that he’s the perfect coda character to introduce, especially because he has that connection to Thanos as well. So I would say that he was never involved in the main story, but always from very early on, there was the idea of introducing him in the post-credits.”

While Marvel fans will have to wait and see when Starfox would be able to make his way in the MCU in a proper way rather than as a cameo or in a post-credit scene which is the case with the latest addition in the MCU, but at the same looking at the poor response from the critics regarding the movie and the fact that Marvel Studios till now hasn’t given the green light to a sequel to the blockbuster, although it is too early to predict anything it seems that the character might be introduced in altogether a different Marvel project.
