Preserving families and relationships is not an easy task, and no one has more issues in their relationship than Khloe Kardashian. Her relationship with Tristan Thompson had always been rocky. The TV personality had already forgiven him quite a few times after the surfacing of his many cheating scandals. But the worst of it had to be when Maralee Nichols came up with a parenting suit for Tristan Thompson. Apparently, the child was perceived right when Khloe and Tristan were publicly dating.

Khloe Kardashian has finally learned that she is better off without her cheating ex and is determined to make 2022 a great year. The actress is now on the journey of distancing herself from her ex and the many baby scandals he brought with him. Just a day after Tristan finally agreed to have a child with Maralee Nichols, Khloe has decided to focus on herself.  A source shared, "She wants the new year to be different. She wants to focus on her own happiness." 

The star has taken a break from dating and "can't imagine dating right now." "But her family knows that she will meet the right guy when she is ready," added the source. "It's hard for her family when she is upset. They love her so much. Khloé is such a strong person, though. She has already moved on after finding out that Tristan was expecting another baby." 

Notably, Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson themselves share a daughter, True, aged 3, together. The NBA star is also father to former girlfriend Jordan Craig's son, Prince, aged 5. 

While Khloe was previously very trusting of Tristan and gave their relationship a few chances, things took a dire turn when Maralee Nichols sued the athlete with a paternity suit for child support and her delivery charges. Tristan vehemently denied having the child with the model but recently admitted that he did father a son with her. 

He posted an Instagram story clarifying that the child is indeed his and even posted an apology for his ill-advised deeds. He said, "Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols." He said, "I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established, I look forward to amicably raising our son."

Continuing, he added, "I sincerely apologize to everyone I've hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately." 

In a separate story, he individually addressed his Kardashian ex and publicly apologized for his behavior. He wrote, "Khloé, you don't deserve this. You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you." He added, "You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry."

The couple had been trying to make their on and off again relationship work for a long time, especially because they share a daughter together. The couple had called it quits last month in June and got together for a short while again. 

Even before this particular scandal, many women have accused Tristan of getting physical with them, especially when he was still publicly together with the Revenge Body host. The two had initially come together in 2016 and welcomed home their daughter in April 2018. Soon, Tristan was proved to have cheated on Khloe with different women on several occasions. While Khloe managed to forgive him many times, things had gone ugly when he kissed Kylie Jenner's former best friend Jordyn Woods. 

Khloe ended things, but people were surprised to see her back with Tristan a year and a half later. Talking of their pandemic romance, a source shared with Us Weekly in August 2020, “Khloé is hopeful that Tristan has changed for good and will continue to grow and be the great and loyal partner that he has been throughout their time together, during the quarantine.” 

Yet, things did not end well, and they soon broke off again. An insider said, “There was no drama,” and that “things just didn’t work out.”

The two adults had managed to separate without much of a fuss and bad blood between the two this time. A source shared, "Tristan and Khloé have been broken up for a while, and things are okay between them."  While it was previously typical to take Tristan back despite his many shortcomings, the Good American founder has now ended things for good, and there will be no reconciliation for the two ever. 

Though Tristan is still hopeful, winds are not in his favor, and it looks like he has floundered his last chance with the Keeping Up With The Kardashians alum. A source told Us Weekly, “Tristan wants to make everything right with Khloé.” They added, “He wants to win her back, but she will never take him back romantically after learning about his cheating. This was the final straw.”
