During the premiere episode of "The Kardashians," on Hulu on April 14th, the audience witnessed a repeat of what they saw during season one of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians": Conversation about Kim Kardashian's sex tape with Ray J.
Kim Kardashian turned towards her ex-husband, Kanye West for some support after she got wind that there was some unseen footage of the infamous sex tape with Ray J that leaked twenty years ago. The story of the existence of the sex tape unfolded when her son Saint showcased Kim an advertisement on Roblox on his iPad, and she explained to the cameras that it was a picture of her crying face, but then she noticed that it had said something inappropriate, like "Kim’s new sex tape." Everything happened while her entire family (minus Kanye West and Scott Disick) were at her house for a barbecue.
Further, the beauty mogul said that her past being brought up after 20 years is the last thing that she needs right now, especially when she has four kids to raise and her entire family is around. She added that this is embarrassing for her to deal with, but she will deal with it and will not let it slide, adding that she cannot believe that it’s happening all over again.
Later in the episode, while Kim Kardashian was packing for her Saturday Night Live hosting gig, she got on a call with her lawyer, Marty Singer, and discussed how they had to deal with the situation. Her lawyer told her that, according to her legal rights, she could sue anyone who releases the tape. Marty Singer added that even if the tape exists, the person who has it cannot release it without her consent, to which Kim Kardashian said that she is 99.9% sure that there is no additional footage.
Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, were seen crying as they expressed their disbelief that they would have to go through this again. Kim Kardashian said to the cameras that for the past twenty years, this mistake has been held over her head, but she later added that nope, it was not a mistake because Ray J was her boyfriend for years and they went on a trip, filmed a video which was leaked, and it was already embarrassing for both of them, but it’s not the most scandalous thing and she is not going to be made to feel like it is. Kris Jenner also expressed her disappointment to the cameras and said that she dislikes to see her children go through so much and for Kim to go through all of it all over again is too much.
Kim Kardashian asked her lawyer to scare the person who has the tape and sue for nominal damages because this is no joke and added that the message is more important than dollars and she is not doing anything wrong; she is simply protecting herself, her reputation, and her children. Later, Kim was seen breaking down while on a call with her ex-husband Kanye West, who comforted her by saying that she has the power and nothing will stop her. Kanye West advised Kim Kardashian not to worry about what the public would say about who she is and what she has done. He reminded her that she knows who she is and Kim shared on camera that even though the former couple are in the middle of divorce, they have remained friends and are in talking terms.

Kim was heard saying to Kanye West that she just wants the tape to be gone, just gone. She asked her lawyer to get something drafted so that the people who are behind this could be taken down immediately before someone copies it because she could not let it go viral or online. After all, she has kids now.
A few months ago in September, Wack100 who was Ray J's manager claimed that he had 'part two' of Kim and Ray's sex tape and had said that he's never seen it but would love to hand it over to Kanye West if he wanted. It was later reported that Kanye West had obtained the laptop from Ray J’s manager, who claimed that he had the unseen footage, and after going through the laptop, it was confirmed that there was no sexual footage that the manager claimed about. A representative for Kim Kardashian said at the time that Kim Kardashian just wants to move on from the infamous sex tape scandal after twenty years and wants to focus on positive things in life like being a mother, entrepreneur, and advocate for justice reform.
Ray J's representative also had a similar thing to say that he is focused on his children, a technology company, and his career at the moment, and the 'infamous sex tape' is the last thing he needs right now. Ray J just like Kim Kardashian wishes to move on from something that happened twenty years ago and wished Kim and Kanye good luck in their lives and added that he wishes never to speak about the tap again.
