Being a famous celebrity does not necessarily mean that they would land a role as easily as ever. While having a famous face does mean that you could bypass so many other problems but not always get to play a part that you wished for. While most big roles come pre-made with an actor or actress already thought up for the role, but so many other roles require the actors to audition to check if they are suitable for the role.

Even big stars like Matthew McConaughey, Jamie Foxx, Robert Pattinson, and Scarlett Johansson had to suffer the rejection of the casting crew back in the day. You would not believe it, but Hollywood A-lists like Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lawrence also failed at auditions once in a while. The most surprising of the casting fails was when Jennifer Lawrence auditioned for the role of Bella Swan in Twilight, but the role was won over by Kristen Stewart.

Here are a few auditioning fails of the most recognized celebs:

While it wasn't strictly Robert Pattinson who told about his failed audition for Scott Pilgrim but director Edgar Wright shared that he 'vividly' remembers Robert's audition for the role of the classic film. The role of Lucas Lee was then given to Chris Evans for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

“He did a much more intense read of it as well. Obviously, Robert is an incredible actor and someone who I’d love to work with now,” Said the director during the 2020 Vanity Fair.

Then the casting director for the film, Alison Jones, also shared at the Fair that she herself was highly impressed with Robert Pattinson's audition and, especially, his American accent. But then she said that at the end, Pattinson wasn't fit for the role, and it went to Chris Evans, who would also get to become Captain America in the future.

When anyone thinks of Fifty Shades, they truly can't think of it without remembering Dakota Johnson's legendary performance in the film. But before she was assigned the role, the pretty Little Liars actress Lucy Hale had also auditioned for the part.

Talking with Associated Press in 2020, Lucy shared that she had auditioned for the role in the film but was not chosen for the part. Talking about the audition, she revealed, “It wasn’t actual scenes from the movie, but it was a very sexually forward monologue, and I didn’t really even know what I was saying in the audition,” she told the publication. “I was a little naive about it all, but yes, I did audition.”

Stating the obvious, Hale continued, “I obviously didn’t get the part. But it was good for me because it scared the crap out of me to do an audition like that.”

He continued, “Went it and we sat down – it was only like three people that he was talking to – and I sat down, and he goes ‘So, tell me, tell me why you love Spider-Man?’”

Apparently, Prinze Jr. could only talk about Venom during the audition that he chided himself for. He said, “I go into this whole like universe of what my favorite parts of Spider-Man were, and I foolishly bring up the alien symbiote, which is Venom, right? When I left, I literally was like, ‘You just talked about Venom instead of Spider-Man for 25 minutes, you stupid …, and I drove home so upset and angry.”

The actor told Vulture in 2017 that he was first selected for the main role in the movie as he had already worked on Whiplash with director Damien Chazelle. But, the role was given to Ryan Gosling.

Talking about the casting, he shared, “When that movie was almost falling apart, I stayed attached to it and told the directors that I really wanted to work with that I couldn’t jump ship from La La Land just because the project was in flux.” “I’ll go to my grave knowing that when push came to shove I expressed extreme loyalty to Damien and that movie. That’s sorta all I can say,” he added.
